Yorkshire pudding, Carrots and Gravy probably all had their individual input to raising the BG levels to 16.5.......@Ashybang and @LivingLightly I found that the gravy on my 2 slices of turkey and 4 sprouts on Christmas Day was the culprit.
@Bcgirl perhaps build an igloo? Or a giant snowman?
Thank youMorning All 7.1 this morning. I always take it when I get up at 0800 and wonder what dizzy lows I would get if I took it earlier but those two hours prior to rising are the most comfy. @RD02 well done on the A1c. Aahh @Ashybang its not easy is it! You’d think a carvery would be safe without the spuds. Keep going fella it will get easier. Cold weather makes me want to stoke up the furnace which is my tummy LOL. @DEBBIESCOTT hugs for the never ending cough, hope it packs up after the latest meds. Happy Saturday and hugs where needed.

Hello @NeeNee87. Welcome back. It's good to see you here again.Latest reading this morning was a disappointing 10.4. I have been slacking off on the exercise with the cold weather here but hoping to get the motivation to get back on track.
Yes, yes, and double yes. There is a saying: "You can't out run a poor diet". In other words, what you swallow matters more than how much extra exercise you take. The way you eat is more powerful even than most anti-diabetic medicines. All carbohydrates end up as glucose in your bloodstream, which makes your diabetes worse. So grains, even whole grains and flour (that includes Yorkshire pud I'm afraid @Ashybang ), below ground veg and most fruits are problematic.
Evening @Welshman1952. A great post.Morning all. A disgustingly healthy 5.9 for me today. It appears regular days out birding agrees with me - so given all that, I have no other choice than to repeat again today. Sigh, sometimes life is so hard
Hope everyone is well today. Here in Devon the glorious sunshine is gone but will be replaced by 60mph winds but at least it will be warmer
I've been an active birder for many years and until 2 months ago I was a volunteer warden at my local RSPB reserve. Sadly the land adjacent to the reserve is owned by a builder and he has acquired planning permission to build 260 houses plus commercial units. Needless to say the fragile ecosystem is changing dramatically almost daily. Already the curlew numbers have halved, as have the lapwing and wildfowl numbers are also down signicicantly.Evening @Welshman1952. A great post.
January was once my least favourite month of the year, having to contend with cold, damp weather, above average train delays and with no Christmas concerts, parties or fairy lights to lift our spirits.
Then, following retirement, I volunteered at our local nature reserve and rediscovered birdwatching. That changed everything. January is such a rewarding time for birding and I find the sustained exercise is practically guaranteed to lower BG readings the following day, provided that I maintain my usual low carb way of eating.
