What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

12.0 again this morning on CGM however... that is with me eating much better, and my basal insulin halved from 40 to 20.
The diabetes specialist had increased my insulin again and again and my bg was still not controlled, and I was terrified that I would not be able to have my hip surgeries, so drastic measures were required. (reducing carbs seems drastic to me)
I understand on a factual level why carbs cause the high blood sugar, but it also seems surreal to make one change, and have such a significant result. I will increase basal a bit and see what tomorrow brings.

A happy 5.3 this morning.
i am now finished week 4 of my no dairy (except for butter) carnivore diet. I wasn’t sure of anything the first three weeks, blood sugars were better but not great. I had some bad days. Then week four happened. I felt amazing, full of energy and not craving anything. My blood sugars are steady and lower than normal. According to my Dexcom (and a million blood tests) my average blood glucose for the past 30 days is 5.9. Absolutely awesome. The past seven days, it’s 5.8. My goal is a three month trial. I am extremely committed. I’m not having any nighttime highs, my dexcom graph is a straight line With tiny bumps, and I mean tiny, after meals. I have even seen a few readings in the fours…
The experiment continues.
 
10.6 this morning on cgm
need to increase the basal a bit more. Am feeling a bit flat today, but I can see body starting to change, and it makes sense that its going to take a bit for the body, and brain to adjust.
Also have achieved goal 1: fit wedding ring again
