@LivingLightly, I'm type 2, diagnosed in 2009 with A1c of 88. Came off Metformin about a year ago so it's diet alone.

Taken twice to be sure.
When this happens, more often than not, it's the first test which is unreliable for any number of reasons.
You were right to retest @cdpm.

If in doubt, a control solution to test the functionality of your meter and test strips is available from your local pharmacy.
If stored properly, they will keep for 12 weeks after opening and some last much longer.

Morning all, sneaking back in here after a great couple of weeks holiday. Sadly my reasonable BS readings are still on holiday and I have returned with much work to do in order to get back on track.
8.0 this morning which believe it or not was better than expected as managed some crazy high readings in the last week of my hols when my resolve had weakened and my diet went off the rails. Despite this no regrets as with a bit of incentive on here, hints and tips etc things should get back to "normal."

Welcome aboard the LC wagon @ChrisT2. Stick with tried and tested diabetic friendly meals and you'll soon be back on track. Consistency is the name of the game!
