What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Congratulations all of you who managed to retain a sense of health and normality yesterday

While I was restrained food wise , sticking just to meat, fish , avocado and lettuce my wine consumption was far from moderate

Today my first reading is 7.5
 
6.1 today, our last full day in the DR
we've had two decent days, some sun and limited rain, but this morning it’s very gloomy and it certainly looks like rain.
its nice and warm, so that’s good.
all in all….I prefer Mexico!
staying on diet here was very easy and for that I am grateful. We did not eat out as that’s always a waste of money for me. Last night I had some ham and eggs, today we have a roast chicken. With that I’ll have cheese and salami.
right now enjoying my butter coffee on the deck as I watch the clouds darken…still better than the snow and cold back home
 
7.3mmol this morning.

Fun bit - had to go on short course of prednisolone a week before Christmas.. due to fires smoke in the air triggered my asthma. Horrible summer bush fires happens out there somewhere.

Now I got those evidences on CGM - my time in ranges went below 56% to 42% when I'm on prednisolone.

And making notes of my ketones levels. 1.2 to 2.4 mmol with high glucose esp risk in DKA. (Diabetes Ketoacidosis)

Bringing in those evidences when I do see new Diabetes Educator in 2 weeks.

It is bit annoyed when a doctor don't listen to those concerns esp they mention Type 2 Diabetes don't get high ketones levels when in high glucose.

Esp my ketones levels do slowly increase when I go above 10 mmol + when I'm on prednisolone or unwell.

Who knows in the future until when I'm in actual real DKA and ends up in hospital - will tell the doctor see I told you so, esp ignored my concerns of very early signs of DKA - I would rather prevent going into real DKA if doctor put me on temporary treatment - low doses insulins that I can do managed at home without going to hospital.

Grey day out there. The weather app says 3 degrees

Inside I’ve set the heating to rise from the current overnight of 17 to 20 . I can hear the faint sound of the central heating pump spinning as a type

Morning All back in the fold! Didn’t test 25 or 26/12 but yesterday ….whisper..9.0 so today 7.3. It wasn’t so much what I ate but the quantity and being out of routine. It was a fun couple of days though!
