What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.2 today thankfully low-ish. Like many yesterday I weakened a little by having a 1/2 muffin for breakfast with ham and poached eggs purely to get rid of the dregs of a packet of muffins lurking in the freezer. Later at work my BS set off my Libre alarm at 13.5 which continued to a high of 15,1 Lesson learned (which I already suspected) that anything bread related even 1/2 a muffin is devil food for me, The birds in the garden will have feasted on the rest of the muffins as I do my bit for nature and they don't need to test for BS.

7.6 for me. I had 3 Werthers sugar free sweets yesterday which, when I looked on the packet had 87g of carbs!!! How? If they are sugar free?? It says on the website that they are ok for a low carb diet.
The type of sweetner used in place of sugar are (supposedly) not processed by the body so don't count as sugar BUT they will have laxative effects in quantity.
The odd one or 2 might well be OK.
Can you test before and after eating any?

I'd have thought more of your rise was likely from the bread sandwich

Five point seven for me this morning on my slimline hurty but handy contour next meter

For those interested in such things I had a four egg omelette for breakfast.
Ate out for lunch , two x Patti hamburger with cheese for lunch, discarding the buns.
Two x handfuls of nuts ( almonds and macadamia nuts) afternoon snack.
Finally eight egg omelette as last meal of the day at around six pm

Lots of coffees and tees and water throughout

Some would say that’s a lot of eggs but of late I’ve been finding out what a superfood they actually are

Finally broke the 6 barrier this morning with a 5.8 admittedly on the Libre so would expect my finger prick to have been higher but an all time getting up low for me. I have been on a low-ish carb for me for last few days as wife away and having to prepare my own meals or avoid altogether without being chastised for not eating. One of the few times when I am in total control of my diet and eating habits also being able to manage on less than 50g per day. There is a lesson there somewhere but not one I am prepared to share with my wife for risk of personal injury and isolation.;)
