What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning All. 9.0 on meter but I was in and out of bathroom so many times in night so knew it would go arwy. My day not getting any better with Eye injection later but really I am grateful to get them. Some great improvements reported so well done those people. @Diawara gout is truly miserable and after so many bad experiences I went on medication daily and never looked back. At least that worked for me!

7.2 this morning now that I am back on the wagon. Better than most of my previous week readings and back to portion sizing and choosing my own foods. Work to be done I know but just brings it home to me the effect carbs and diet in general has on my blood sugar.
Likely fit a Libre later today, strange that somehow I feel comforted by having it even knowing it is only measuring but not directly controlling blood sugar. Sort of feel a bit lost without it, crazy I know but then that just about sums me up.

each small step forward will get u there in no time
My result at 6.40 a.m was 7.5. My issue is this - It moves to 13.5 by 10a.m at 6.50 i inject 22 units of Levemir insulin . At 8a.m 500 Metformin tablet with breakfast . Eggs or fish plus 1 slice of wholemeal. Occasionally 10g slice of orange (with peel). The orange doesnt seem to make any difference.

5.00 mmol/L at 5AM this morning. Yesterday was an awesome day, today is a little cooler. Lot of you have good numbers with CGM. I am still happy with finger pricking. I fast for 8 hours during the day and 8 hours during the night. My day time FBG is always lower than my night FBG numbers. Have a nice day.

Being places is great. Flying long distance a bit more challenging

Got home twelve hours ago had a bit to eat a glass of wine and wrapped myself in an electric overthrow and slept !

Changed the clocks , stabbed myself to get a start at five point eight to this multilayered day

All a bit Brrrrr at the mo.

Have a good day all

libre: 3.1 blood glucose 5.0 10 mins later libre 2.9
really wish abbot freestyle2 plus had the ability to calibrate. surely it can't be one size fits all :F 3rd or 4th sensor in a row to read fair bit lower constistantly. no wonder the DSN is having a hissy fit about lows obviously she doesn't beleive me when i telling her not low.

5.2 this morning and I did a double take. . Checked again and it came out 5.3 so all good.
Its been years since I last saw a level as low as that. The past few days have been good for me so much so I was thinking. "Was it funny strips"? But no! In between the 5.2 and the 5.3 I opened a new box.

Another 7.2 again today. It's not down yet but at least it hasn't gone up so have to take it as a minor win. Back on the Libre but will continue to post finger pricks for a few more days to give a decent comparison between poor diet holiday week and more focussed healthier week. Not sure why I am making comparison as we all know which works best for reducing BS.

It will lower later or if you eat first it will lower as u walk .....or that's what happens with mine.

11.7

Back to "normal". Appeared to be hydrated but still had to stab 4 times before getting a decent blood drop. So frustrating, and my regular fingertips are all bruised now so may have to try little finger this evening.

I didn't realise that different areas of the upper arm can vary re interstitial fluid .

Try rubbing ur fingers under warm water .
