My result at 6.40 a.m was 7.5. My issue is this - It moves to 13.5 by 10a.m at 6.50 i inject 22 units of Levemir insulin . At 8a.m 500 Metformin tablet with breakfast . Eggs or fish plus 1 slice of wholemeal. Occasionally 10g slice of orange (with peel). The orange doesnt seem to make any difference.each small step forward will get u there in no time
It will lower later or if you eat first it will lower as u walk .....or that's what happens with mine.7.9 this morning but not really surprised. Went for a nice 8 mile walk yesterday with just plain water for sustinence and measured immediately when I got back, nearly fell over as reading 10.8 on meter. Was hoping for a decent 6 or so. Never been able to explain why my readings so high after exercise when the recommendation is exercise is good for lowering BG as well as other benefits, sadly not so in my case. I am not giving up the walking because I find it preferable to lying on a sunbed soaking up the rays with a cold beer and a book but I don't expect it to be beneficial for BG any more.
I didn't realise that different areas of the upper arm can vary re interstitial fluid .hopefully swelling goes down soon for you and in turn wont be as painful. I'd guess you've tried cold compress?
been up for a few hours now libre seemed to think was 3.8 at 6:23 this morning and been low a fair bit according to it over the last couple of weeks, attached is todays graph alongside last 7 days time in range last couple of sensors seem to be a couple of mmol out vs fingerpricks so not worried
have appointment with DSN today wishing her luck in advance if its her duty to get bloods :O
mental note for self: remember to get clarity on sensor locations from her in particular asking where the most interstitial fluid is on the upperarms. also to point out bruising and a couple of lumpy bits with tummy bruising :/
Try rubbing ur fingers under warm water .Unfortunately I appear to be a very difficult bleeder. The only things that have worked for me so far are keeping super hydrated and keeping my hand below my knees, and even then it only works 2/3 of the time. The need for hydration is another reason I can't test until I've drunk my tea
Have you tried the libre sensor they are giving ones away at the moment ..well a 2 week free trial .11.7
Back to "normal". Appeared to be hydrated but still had to stab 4 times before getting a decent blood drop. So frustrating, and my regular fingertips are all bruised now so may have to try little finger this evening.
