I've had some answers after dr's surgery pharmacist called to notify me of change of insulin. Let her know some of concerns she spoke to the dsn on my behalf they agreed that dose would be used more quickly leading to more chance of daytime hypos, said something like as awake hours i'd be more able to deal with hypos and it would reduce the risk of overnight hypo. I've made the decision to not to switch based on above. I'm not keen on change if something isn't broken don't fix it. Other reason they wanted the change was it would be easier for them to see if pancreas is producing enough insulin on its own and would see that very very quickly.
bottom line is is i wont be changing insulin type at this time, instead i've to go down 1 unit of toujeo every 3 days until either 1) on zero units 2) sugars continue to rise through the night. To keep an eye on levels and check in with them if I'm unsure about any reduction. They've still said type1 - honeymoon period sometimes its possible to come off insulin as when had DKA in january definately 100% body wasn't producing any. I'm still thinking most likely type2 as lots of family members had that. Time will tell i guess. I've to be prepared if do come off insulin to have to restart using it fairly quickly.
c-peptide another hba1c (earlier than 3 months?? :O ) 9th july. just shy of 10 weeks.
I'm not blood hba1c 46 mmol/mol (6.4%) on 01/05/2025
libre2plus estimated a1c: 41 mmol/mol on 01/05/2025
They are concerned libre says 33 for a1c.
