What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Did strange bed syndrome involve any Persians ? If so, I hope you didn't wait in vain for the Spartans to rush in and save you...could be at least a fortnight before they show up and your blood sugar will have come down by then anyway.
 
My waking levels have been way less than consistent recently : 6.4 this morning, 5.6 yesterday, 6.4 the day before, 5.5, 6.2 etc for about 1 days or so. No real reason I can see. Still - could be worse as they say. They're always saying that !

Hi. 6.8 may be a good bit higher than your usual, but I wouldn't say it was cause for alarm at all. yes, a small infection can and often does increase blood sugar. Bear in mind also that sometimes the liver will dump glucose into the system to prepare the body for the day ahead and it appears to be to be a bit random in its timing and hard to predict (which is one of the reason that the waking level is not necessarily the lowest level of the day). Also...one reading on its own is not enough to really read much into at all as many little factors can account for an apparent blip. I definitely would not be scared by it for a minute. Hopefully, it's down again later and back to your usual tomorrow.

One reading of 6,8 is no reason to be scared especially if you have a cold which could account for it.

As Pav very rightly says it is only a teeny tiny blip. Still a very good number. Colds are notoriously bad for upsetting the diabetic apple cart. Hope you feel better really soon

Unusually for me I am quite lost for words. You are not lucky to have me but I am very lucky in the company that I keep
