What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 8.7 this morning at 7.50 am. Had 2 lots of wobbles/ shakes yesterday following my biopsy. One was pre- lunch ( directly following my biopsy) so had a carby snack at the hospital just in case. Second was pre early evening meal. Recognised the hypo onset signs ( overheating, wobbling, shaking hands & knees/ hunger) so gobbled a quickly made sandwich/ mini pork pie that I was preparing for my mum at the time. Tested after I'd stopped shaking and was 4+. Retested a short time later and I'd jumped up to 9.8. All over the place! Have a good Friday one and all. Nearly the weekend!

9.7 this morning
So disheartening and I had such a bad night. On top of that a diabetes consultant appointment at 10:30am

It's a touch high but not skyhigh high. It is indeed part of the condition that all of us here battle against. I don't wish to try to sound like I a being clever but the consultants always seem to be a lot less stringent on us than we actually are on ourselves. I am sure your appointment will go very well but if it doesn't then it is just work in progress. I know that the appointments are stressful but the consultants are there to help us manage our condition. Very good luck with your appointment

I hope things are calmer for you this morning. You really do deserve a break. Any idea when you will get your results through?

Thanks ziggy_w. Biopsy now done. Just got to wait for the results.

Thank you for your positivity! It really rubs off and makes me feel a lot better
Normally it's not ever that high fasting, for some reason today it was though.

I really appreciate the positive mentality you have!

good morning all

4.8 today

feeling a bit better today after starting to feel queasy during the morning yesterday , (not like me), I felt 'off' all day, a short walk helped a bit but it was not a comfy feeling at all. It's lashing down here, cold and windy and Mr gee has just gone out to do his 'charity' helping day, so, I think I'll have a quiet day today and catch up with some mending and alterations

Thanks Diabeticliberty. I was told that the results will be sent to the ENT consultant who requested the test and that if I don't hear anything by 2 weeks to get in touch with him. I think that is standard advice they give everyone as I've heard it before. The hospital team were brilliant. They took 2 separate samples from my thyroid but said from what she could tell from the ultrasound it didn't look "worrying". Hope you are OK this morning. Your levels are low even for you!

Hi lxarix glad we sorted out which country you live in I thought why if he lives in uk would he be traveling to Toronto? Need to try to get the brain into gear, I was 71 on the 1 st October and you are still very much a young man with lots of life ahead of you. Deal has best you can with any health issues and live your life, that's my motto. I have never been to Canada then I've mostly traveled around Europe, been to New York a couple of times, would love to see other countries whilst I'm still relatively fit and active so who knows I may get to Canada, but it sounds cold. Take care I wish you well. Kathleen

@dogslife wow pretty rotten time for you yesterday how did the biopsy it's self go. Hope you feel better soon.

My fbg was 4.8 this morning.
Thanks JohnEGreen. The biopsy was OK. The hospital team were very good. They did a thorough ultrasound and took 2 samples from my thyroid. They were very reassuring. Just got to wait for the results now but I'm not too worried. Good fbs for you this morning. Well done!

Freema you play an absolutely top notch game. For a HbA1c of only 34 I would willingly eat my own toenails. I know that you are really driven to go as low as you physically can which really is no bad thing. Please do not beat yourself up though. 34 is eyewateringly good

Thanks DL...but...I was referring to my INR levels...I take Warfarin indefinitely...difficult to exert control over that...managing the BG levels fine (so far)...Warfarin a different kettle of fish altogether...have regular blood tests...can't self monitor at home...the antibiotics did unbalance my levels...higher than they should be...but...easier to get them down...rather than bring them up...so heading in the right direction...fingers crossed.

Sorry kid, I thought your INR levels were now starting to behave themselves a bit better. Your results all seemed to be heading in the right direction. The condition doesn't sound like a particularly pleasant cocktail mix to go with your diabetes.
