What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Just received my results, I have a stomach infection by a bacterium called Helicobacterium Pylori. Two weeks antibiotics and I should be fine.

Feeling very relieved.

Hi pavlosn
I too had that some years ago now you should be fine after antibiotics treatment. Its good they found it it can cause stomach ulcers etc. Nasty bug, so glad you've got results quickly now you can stop worrying. K

Karen was only diagnosed 5 months ago I believe and it appears is striving extremely hard to better control her waking blood sugars. her reported figure of 8.5 was down from her previously reported figure of 9+. Her figure this morning is 6+ so it appears that the effort she is making is paying immediate rewards and she should be encouraged to continue her own positive program of self management. I have in the past personally ran with averages of around 8.5 and have thus far felt no negative impact from this. I have also fortunately had no secondary diabetic complications The author in the report you have posted a link to might be advised that publishing stuff that might scare the **** out of other diabetics might possibly not offer the best of help. We are all only trying to do the best we can for ourselves and should be encouraged :)
when i was first diagnosed my bgs were very low in hypo mode more often than not . at the moment they may seem a little high and i am addressing this mostly the highest i go is 12ish but i am still learning .in the morning i have stopped my insulin as when im in work even with just 1unit i was dropping down below 4 :wacky: now with none im am usually bk to where i started that morning i still have insulin at dinner and teatime try to carb count as best i can , ive got an appointment at the pump clinic in 2 weeks so i presume thats what im going there for as i said i wanted to do the counting course . (as you can tell reading this bk to myself dinner and tea time im not very active hence the insulin :) ) i do take all comments on board and i appreciate everyone of them i think this is a great forum for advice but i DO know ultimetly its down to me to control this diabetes and not let it control me and with continued support from all on here and dsn and myself i will get there in the end so have a great weekend folks cos i intend to :):p ps i love these emojis as you can probably tell :playful::D

@karen8967 I think you know exactly what you are doing and power to you for it. I also don't think your blood sugars are particularly high. Certainly not high enough to be worried about in the slightest. When first diagnosed my diabetic control was nowhere as good as yours appears to be. My diabetic control probably still isn't as good as yours. I am however thick as two short planks. If I were you I would just stick to your scheme which is obviously working for you. I also have no doubt that you will get to wherever you want to in the end. Have a great weekend to and a happy emoji day :)

I am in a state of everlasting need. Your mindful thoughts will of course sustain me. I would of course prefer beer and chips but your mindful thoughts come can awfully close second :p

Честит петък на всички мои диабетно разширени племена на красиви хора и техните котки и кучета. Well folks this morning I have been playing a fine old game of diabetic twister. The game with the spots on the mat that you stretch your body onto and contort into some rather awkward positions that a man in his early thirties should not attempt. OK, OK I'm 51 really, 52 next Friday. My left knee cracked 3 tines and whaddya know my blood sugars are 3.3mmols. It's a sign but only of my reduced flexibility. Never mind it's the weekend. All get yourself onto the mean streets and into much mischief.

Happy to provide the mindful thoughts for you @Diabeticliberty !:):cat:
Especially after that game of twister! I always laughed :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: too much to be able to win!
Sounds like you had a fork stuck in your knee (3 tines!) :inpain::nailbiting::eek: that would have ruined your 52 (sorry 51 still!) year young suppleness! :cat::cat:
and not sure if I want to get myself out onto the 'man streets'?! but mischief is my middle name!! :playful::p:hilarious: so will probably cause no end of havoc at the retreat centre later today! :cat::angelic::)
Must away to get myself ready.... tear myself away from the laptop....:dummy1::joyful::cool:
