What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

You can have seizures if your blood sugar goes really low. Diabetes and s the underlying cause of so many problems. I didn't have any seizures until 1st year University. It may have been stress related. I have only had a handful. But it was enough to get me on meds.

It isn't always cold, though today is particularly frigid out. In the summer it is quite nice. It is such a big country, I've barely seen any of it myself. Haven't visited Ottawa, the capital, once. I also haven't been out west. One of my dream trips is to drive out west to Vancouver, than drive down th West coast to San Francisco, than come back home through the States. I've visited the States many times, and every winter now I increasingly understand why people escape to Florida during the winter months.

Big cities like that are fun to visit, and I totally get the sense of nostalgia. I love that there is so much humanity around. I really like being a part of it. But I won't want to deal with the traffic, the constant construction, and the expense either.

I didn't know that.At the time of dx for diabetes,I was so shocked I didn't ask the right questions.I do remember saying to the doctor,"oh type 2,it's not serious then"He soon put me right about that!!How little I knew.After sixteen years of d2 a year low carbing has really helped.Ive taken things slowly because of my age,but everything has improved this year.Im still on Metformin and reluctant to change too quickly.I hope you have good care from your doctors.

I've been really lucky. I have nice, smart doctors. My family doctor is nice, and well regarded. I was told he was a good doctor by one of the nurses who was looking after me when I was in the hospital. Also, my endocrinologist is really nice. She new to the city, and young. My neurologist I been seeing for so long. Plus I have a great health care team, a diabetes nurse, and a dietitian all helping out. So I really have a good team in place.

We have twins in family on my fathers side but none of my immediate family have had multiple births. Yes two together is harder work so hope you have family around you to help out,but what a lovely event for you and your family. By my reckoning it will be April time spring babies .Take care of yourself and babies will be fine and it will be a pleasure to here from you anytime you want to chat. Kathleen

Hi heavyd nice to see you on here again and BG still doing fine,hope your keeping well, busy season nearly upon us hectic time at run up to Christmas love the Christmas tree and decorating it,I finally start to enjoy Christmas when the shops are finally closed and I can chill out,family all grown up now but they come round at Christmas usually in evening we have a buffet and a glass or two. What do you do at Christmas ? K

Hello again
Me and my husband have been out for lunch we found a lovely pub serves home cooked food,I've had salmon and veg,Geoff had home made steak and ale pie chips and veg. Then a little treat treacle Parkin cake with custard we shared this, lovely meal. Then out for a look in shops and home again great afternoon. Kathleen
 
Good Morning! 6.3 at 0720. Highest fbg since I've been here. I had red pork and dumplings instead of pork noodle soup for a change last night, and no alcohol - I thought my liver could do with a rest.
There has been heavy rain, only for about 30 minutes each time around 4pm the last couple of days, but there are thunder storms forecast around 2pm then 5pm today, so I might give the beach a miss today though it's warm and sunny now.

After hiring a commercial floor polisher and moving around some of my furniture I have turned my living room into a diabetic roller disco. I am currently sat in an NHS walk in centre with an ice pack on my dislocated knee but boy oh was I going at some speed when I smashed into my own fireplace. It broke into 4 pieces and curiously enough my blood sugars are 4.0mmols. Happy skating my fellow diabetic roller blading posse massive.
