What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Finger prick says FBG 6.7 again this morning, Libre says 7.1.

Took it 20 mins later on the Libre & it had shot to 7.6, unprecedented in my morning numbers. It also gave me a monumental 11.9 after a modest Sunday breakfast of sausages & mushrooms. I had gone for a swim so the starting point was higher than the waking number but still.

The inexplicable is a feature of my life currently - I now need to sort out my home Wi-Fi which has dropped out for no discernible reason and will not come on again.

So tested this morning to see a 5.1 :D Don't know how I managed that, the only thing I can think of is that we went for a walk/stroll last evening as bloods were up a little and I wanted to get them down. Seems to have worked just not in the way I expected. Bet I can't replicate it though. Have a great day, folks, it's going to be a scorcher where I am.

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?
hello,
Thats a very good idea. we can share our meal plans aswell!

8.1! very disappointing  Could taking Nytol affect my morning fbg? I’m a terrible sleeper and half a Nytol tablet is helping.
The short answer is yes. Nytol tablets contain maize starch and lactose, so not recommended for diabetics.

The stress associated with chronic pain like your aching hips could certainly contribute to your raised blood glucose. Your painful hips may be making your normal positions in bed uncomfortable and poor sleep can certainly affect blood glucose levels, as you know.

Did you mention earlier that you've been on holiday recently? If so, a change from your normal routine can't have helped. My medical diary tells me that holiday periods (like the days between Christmas and New year for instance) invariably push up my blood glucose readings. We're all different, but if I've kicked over the traces every once in a while for a week or so, it takes more than a week of routine meals and exercise for my BGs to return to normal.
