What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

woke up 5.4. just before eating breakfast went upto 7.2 (approx hour before gave up getting back to sleep) zero food intake lol heck knows whats going on, i do have a cold couple of days now hopefully that clears up soon. just back from consulatant 'first visit' he seems pretty happy with 'progress'. his only complaint failed drawing bloods ;/ diabetic nurse and him think maybe need statins but futher test to see levels as the high glucose levels could of been the cause. nurse said stingy prob as not enough fatty tissue in area :O

6.4 first thing. Settling down this week thankfully but looking ahead to a carby weekend as visiting relatives with no respect to diabetic diet unfortunately. Swerving it is not an option so will be walking a tightrope of bad choices and uninformed but well meaning intentions for a couple of days. What is weird and perverse is the fact I am strangely looking forward to the challenge.;)

Totally agree, I miss pies the most ie. anything with pastry, apple pies, meat pies, pasties, beef wellington etc. Have to avoid them like the plague and even a single slice of toast takes my BS into outer earth orbit although I never have missed bread. Unfortunately bread or cakes are always the goto snack option for the non diabetic folks to fill any food gap.
