interest to know how many come to your lunch club and is it a set meal or would they make you low carb if you asked.
There are about 36 sometimes 38. Sometimes they will give me sausages instead of pie and cut out the potatoes. For our Easter meal....starter prawns with a little salad; main.....pork steak,2 small roast potatooes, broccoli, carrots.stuffing ball and gravy. The others had trifle for pudding. I took my own. But ohhh, the trifle looked good!

Morning All 7.3 yesterday and 8.3 today! @Omar51 and @grantg take a look at the Acuchek Fastclix which is a pen loaded with cylinders of lancets that you can set at 5 different pressures. Each cylinder holds 6 lancets but you can reuse each over and over. You don’t even see the lancets. Have a good day all.

6.3 this morning and so glad it is on the low side for me. Been at my Dad's earlier this week and unfortunately "force fed" carby meals and snacks the whole time by well intentioned but un-informed folk who think I need feeding up. Libre graph each day resembled a map of the Himalayas which was a result of cakes, pastries, sweet treats etc. My Fitness Pal carb calculations were every day 150-200g carbs and that could have been higher if not for my frequent and polite refusals. I was even force fed milk in my black coffee because "drinking it black is no good for you especially if you don't have sugar in it." Where they get these crazy outdated ideas from is beyond me but it just brings it home to me that it is no wonder I developed T2 diabetes and a miracle it was only late onset and not childhood. :arghh:

i have a pen which im still not brave enough to use pull back shotgun action to load click the trigger to fire. I'm such a wuss with new things :F pressure activated lancets which they used every few hours in hospital is all i appear able of using still. the different brand the chemist gave me have a full box of them minus a couple i couldn't bring myself to try that had to push down way harder so pressure needed to release so much more kept on chickening out with those. What i need to do is get over the irrational fear. Better yet if the hospital used the actual pen and lancets that they discharged me with I'd probably been ok with that and would of been more or less used to that by now. Hopefully next time at dr's (waiting til end of month - will be 12 weeks passed by then) they're able to get blood without too much hassle having someone take me so can take diazapan + temazepam which will hopefully make me a lot more settled allowing them to do without hyperventalating resulting in passing out etc. I don't understand for the life of me why they wont simply draw blood when unconcious when given permission to do so directly prior! Primary care unit a month ago, was out for count a couple of times :O

over selling.... oh so many things are enthusiastically oversold
Morning all

Now been two weeks since using the libre. It’s pretty much taught me that all outsourced meals ie restaurants and a lot of supermarket prepared meats , eg bacon somehow load everything with hidden sugar / carbs.

It’s taught me that it takes my body several days to restore normal blood glucose after each and every higher than usual carb event

I’ve rediscovered steak and eggs as a satisfying, easy to cook meal

I’ll reapply my remaining sensor today and leave it a day to settle before I activate it

Take care all

Morning All 7.9 this morning mmmh still a lot of work to do. Off to my first ever baby shower today not sure what to expect though there is a sit down 3 course meal. I chose crispy duck salad and then seabass. Skipped pud. But I’ve seen a pic of the beautiful cake and since its my grandchild (not the cake obs!) I feel entitled to a sample! Have a great weekend everyone.

Getting back to normal at 6.2 first thing. Smoothing out the peaks on the CGM graph but have to agree with @OrsonKartt it takes a few days of effort to undo the damage done by poor carb choices. Even more worrying for me I have my annual Hb1ac blood test and diabetic MOT next week and could really have done with a more disciplined run up to it. Whatever the result it will be a true reflection of my daily life.
Still we all have to live our lives the best we can so enjoy the chocolate and treats this weekend with no guilts. Happy Easter all.

fingerprick 6.2 i didn't believe libre's 3.7 reading looking forward to next weeks appt with the DSN, going to ask for clarity on locations for sensor. Practice nurse has fitted sensors up until yesterday. i don't have a lot of fat on back of upper arm maybe that can effect readings, unless 2 sensors a in a row messed up readings. also plan on asking about safety needles to see if can get different depth currently using 5mm 30gauge toujeo stings like blazes.

Likely will get into trouble from the DSN as still haven't managed to get bloods done (not for lack of attending the appt) just way too anxious :/ brightside if on arrival they manage to get its will of been 12 weeks since last hba1c so maybe that would be checked at sametime :)
