needles, bloods sampling, infact most medical stuff which usually result in panic/anxienty attacks :(
6.3 at 8am. Well it could have been worse after the roast lunch and pudding yesterday. And now I’ve run out of test strips so will have to wait a few days

Have a marvellous Monday everyone x
worth keeping a box spare. a lot of chemists stock various strips to fit a multitude of meters, might be worth checking your local one if they have in stock, rather than waiting for dr's to prescibe send over etc. in uk some chemists can do under minor ailments if dont pay for prescriptions

was advised to use moisturiser coconut butter or simular on tummy as bruising from insulin injections, maybe that could help with fingers too?
perhaps you can get narrower lancets, higher number gauge which should help (if can get enough blood from them) i'm using 30g at the moment which is less nippy than the 23gauge which was original prescribed.

Haven't owed for a bit….things are the same, usually the low sixes.
been very busy in the yard and I’m exhausted…..still lots to do but I see the end.
started on Creon. I’ve been using over the counter enzymes but decided I really should do Creon….i have only half a functioning pancreas. Those pills are expensive! Yikes. Here in Canada we have to pay for our meds but usually most have extended health benefits and they often pay a portion. Still, I had to pay $155 CAD for a three month supply! Actually, since one pill a meal works for me I actual have a six month supplement. Still expensive. Hoping they help me gain some weight…
engine light came back on….my little car is off to the service department tomorrow.

Morning All 7.6 on meter, only one day of current Libre left. @Bcgirl I also take Creon since a distal pancretectomy in 2014, currently 2. X 25,000 strength before every meal. I also have a separate bile condition affecting metabolising fats so when that flares up I have to rely on LC toast and codeine. Its a constant trade off for me. Lucky here over 60s get free meds but likely not for long.
Take care everyone.

housework all done for the day :)

little peeved at dentist yesterday. they've refered me to the dental hospital as couldnt get me numb for long enough to do all the work last time was there. Just over a month ago, was agreed they could do quarter mouth at a time if necessary, couple of weeks ago they managed quarter of the mouth and had booked me in for today. Arranged for someone to be with me (dentists requested) spoke with the DSN regarding 'normal dental numbing injection' which the dentist last time didn't want to do as raises blood glucose, DSN said yes will raise the blood glucose levels but can deal with that if necessary via correctional insulin dose. was told friday (after they closed) that they wanted to refer to the dental hospital (appt was supposed to be 9:30 this morning). spoke with them yesterday morning told today would of been last appt then refered. just after 2pm dentist called he wasn't willing to do the treatment as hard to numb, alongside injections didn't last long enough to do all the work, i said to him DSN has given advice to me on how to correct any raised sugar levels (if it was necessary) and it was my decision if wanted to live with slightly elevated levels for a day or two. Very unhappy with the refusal of them to continue treatment. I've to call them back in a MONTHS time if I haven't had an appt from the hospital and they will 'try chase it up'. The dental hospital when i asked them originally said they were unable to take on any new patients as had no space.

The upside of the dental hospital although further to travel can actually get there via public transport :) 3 hours roughly public transport vs 2 hours (cant get public transport there and back in same day for the dentist refusing to continue treatment)

The downside no appt date, unsure if they will even see me. Currently a couple of the other teeth that were going to be extracted today are sore had hoped that would be done at the very least.

I'm thinking its a little early to eat easter eggs. Bad enough that the supermarkets have them for sale since just after xmas lol
If you were talking about normal chocolate bar or something would be thinking yum :>

Have requested family NOT to give me eggs as would be so tempted, especially was the attached image, but hey if sugars low would need a wee bite right? :)

ps missing nutella and toast for breakfast every once in a while

6.2 this morning. Falling behind a bit in the logging as we have family visiting. Two adults, two kids, will be staying until Easter Sunday. We love to see them but it does become a bit hectic keeping everyone fed and watered.

I have been using an extra fine 33 gauge, and got used to little pain. I will try moisturizing coconut butter or similar. I switch my fingers for testing. Thanks for sharing info.
