walking in general tends to lower sugars for me (short walks at very slow pace), swimming appears to have a bigger difference in helping to reduce (at very very slow pace) that is basing off cgm.

hand soaking wont effect cgm, it may effect fingerprick results. if hands are not dry it will dilute the sample. hence was advised in hospistal wipe away first droplet then squeeze / rub downwards for another droplet and check against the second droplet of blood.

over the moon as very shortly after this mornings original post have finally hit refresh mydiabetesmyway :) results are in! whoohoo! celebrating today some bolognese for dinner minus the pasta :D
Are you going to share it with us?:)

Your TIR must be really brilliant based on your FBG postings, so no worries for the A1c.

Hope you get the results you want in all areas.

Keep us posted. :)
time in range is pretty decent it was terrible when initially diagnosed libre said TIR was sub 40% for the first few weeks (usually very high/high). Started to walk about a little bit after food whenever seen straight upwards arrow for 10-15 minutes at a time. current time in range for last 7 days: 97% 2% <3.9 (but fingerprick checking lowest 4.2 tested at 2.8 libre. 30days: 96% TIR 1% 10.1-13.3 3.9 and lower 2%, above10 2%. 90days TIR 88% 10-13.3 6% 6% >13.3 >13.3 0% sub <3.9 0%. I've found the libre exceptionally good for encouraging exercise :) alongside made a ton of diet changes learned to avoid some foods (or take if lower)

I agree exercise helps lower the bs
When the little dog in the suitcase (avatar)
Was younger 30 to 40 minutes brisk walk after fasting reading would bring it down say from 6.5 to 5.5 .. unfortunately age slowly caught up with him and he wanted less and less exercise until the old man left some six weeks ago...
I still work manually 4 to 5 days a week but it's not the same as brisk walk twice a day..

Interestingly for me my glucose levels increase as soon as I get out of bed and start moving.

With the libre I am able to take a reading while still in bed. Unless I forget like this morning.

Seven point one

5.5 this morning :woot:. We've been taking advantage of the sun and have been out walking around the area most days so plenty of walking exercise. I don't seem to drop bloods immediately after exercise in actual if I test immediately bloods seem to be higher than expected however I do tend to see an improvement later on or on the following day. So very happy with those blood results. The only issue with walking at the moment is that I have tendonitis of the back of the knee. I've had it a few months and I thought I could just walk off the pain and it would gradually get better. The doc when I saw him, said no....Rest it! I tried to and the ache had stated to diminish but as I have walked this week, I'm back to where I was' I'll take it though for a 5.5.:)

8.2 yesterday and 8.8 for me this morning. Daily results first thing are slowly rising but to be expected as holiday food not carb friendly in the least unless of course I fancy fasting for a week. Proof positive that it is the carb values that affect my BG. Doing plenty of swimming and walking but watching numbers slowly increase as the week and bad diet progresses.

Weirdly enough my exercise numbers tend to buck the trend of many here, when I do plenty of walking my numbers go quite high and not down. Being on holiday I have had the opportunity to do anything from 5-10 miles every day but I test as soon as I get back and am baffled by the double figure readings. If I sit around on the sunbed reading or snoozing my numbers rarely go above 8.5 Moral of the story, stay on the sunbed but I very quickly get restless and bored.

Morning All so yesterday 7.5 today 8.5 ouch! Since my long weekend I have tried to stay circa 30g carbs/day. Yesterday main meal was poached haddock but I did get up late today. I think when I have my bloods done in two weeks I may be recommended meds for the first time. Anyway I know I’m not the only one in this position.
Enjoy the weekend everyone

Keep your spirits up Mrs P. Pray that you will do better than you anticipate when you have your A1c. You occasionally wear a CGM, what is that estimating?

Knowing when to rest and when to push through is a mighty skill. Fingers crossed for you

Re activity and blood glucose. Mine definitely increases with any activity. Even using the loo in the night shows an increase from horizontal rest.

The exception is activity after eating when a short ( one kilometre) walk. Definitely decreases glucose levels.

Totally agree re the short walk although its a puzzle why a long walk will put sugars up but a short walk will bring them down. I suspect its the same for me re activity. I know my bloods go up when I first walk downstairs on a morning, but only for a couple of minutes or so, before dropping down again.
