What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

First reading of the day seven point eight on libre

Off for blood draw today and being taught how to use insulin tomorrow

I’m partly relieved and partly worried what a future of daily injections will bring . How it will impact my day to dayness , travelling etc..

On the bright side the sun is out and so is the washing

Have a good day. ( if you possibly can )

Had to get up early at 0200 to collect friends from the airport. Did a sneaky test and got a 5.6 which was fairly expected.
Got home at 0700 after slight flight delay and tested again which was trying to be consistent and more my normal time, 8.2. Gutted as no food just a return journey in the car and still on the Bugs Bunny diet with regular fasting of 15 hours between evening meal and light snack around midday. Nothing I can do to get a low BS to start my day.

Morning All 8.3 today so the 7s were short lived. @OrsonKartt good luck with the new regime. I feel that background insulin will be on my horizon too. I have an incomplete pancreas so likely T3c when I cross the threshold but have been hanging on non D for over 7 years now.

Thanks for your thoughts. Weird one eh? Hey ho …. fingers crossed and trying to get a tune while whistling in the dark …. Onwards and hopefully upwards !!

no swim this morning trying to get appt with dr surgery. really dislike the call for appointment system in place these days rarely can get an appointment by time phone not engaged all appointments taken up usually. would love if they brought the old system back nip down and wait your turn. 27 minutes spent constantly enganged when finally got through sorry all todays appointments are taken call back tomorrow at 8:30am ... what is most annoying if actually get through at at 8:28-8:29am they just tell u sorry its too early call back at 8:30am urgh.
Does the surgery have an consult on their website, if so they have to ring you back

No. Been issue ever since COVID with getting appointments. There are 3 GP surgeries in my area all have issues with people getting appointments. Sad thing is NHS plan to merge all and swap location to community hospital. It will be a disaster when that happens. Parking already issue just a&e 1 Dr. They have x-ray machine they call radiologist over from mainland if they need. Any big issues they are unable to cope and send 1 of their 3 ambulances to mainland to take patients to another hospital. That leaves 2 ambulance one used for patient transport. The remaining one stays local if possible it has an extremely large area to cover for 999 calls. If both ambulances in use the patient transport one occasionally used to take patients to a helipad as hospital isn't equipped to deal with anything remotely complicated other than broken bones.

There'd be an element of adrenalin (stress hormones) in that situation, its not all down to food . Don't be so hard on yourself
