What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.7 bit higher than recently no idea why loads of exercise yesterday went to bed at 4.8. so confused.
on another note i got a reply for my FOI request. Do the NHS always wait until the VERY LAST DAY before they bother their shirts to reply?

"Request:

Which hospitals can do hba1c alongside lipid profile tests via finger prick rather than
having to go get done via vein access."

the reply: "There is limited availability of finger prick HbA1c analysis. It is available in some Diabetic
clinics: a, b, c, d" 3 out of the 4 clinics state children only. Wonder what the DSN at the clinic I attend is going to say... I emailed her the response. She is at 2 diabetic clinics that offer that service and swore blind that she has never ever heard of hba1c getting done by a fingerprick :O

For the lipid profile fingerprick part of the reply "We can tell you there is no general availability of finger prick Lipid analysis in NHSxxxx other than for screening patients in clinical research."

Wondering how to go about signing up for some 'research' going to ask that would save days of nightmares, panic attacks, hyperventalating, passing out unable to look at draw site for several weeks afterwards.

No further forward with appt for help with the phobia :( consultant wont look at the privately done lab results got done recently via fingerprick method.

Currently six point eight

Yesterday afternoon was spent cooking and eating bbq and drinking wine

I did make a salad but passed on the greenness

I also made a thin almond flour “sponge” heavily coated with mascapone and topped with slices of strawberries which I did dig into in all it’s deliciousness
Cake sounds delicious :)

7.7 again on meter this morning which is pretty good seeing as I can't do any exercise even walking . Only pottering as my Gyni/ surgeon told me ....and believe me I am listening to her ....never want to go through surgery again ( unless it is to save my life ) .

6.3 this morning and had the signs of a migraine yesterday with no pain so took a paracetamol & codeine and it stopped the waterfall eyes. Woke up with headache dodgy eye, so have take one para/codeine, but may have to take another :arghh:

codeine by itself or is it co-codomal your taking. If its co-codomal that contains paracetomal already so careful not to take much. If co-codomal you cant then take paracetomal alongside it. hope the meds eased up the headache.

Sorry, yes its paracetamol and codeine in one generic type, co-codomal not separate. Have had niggly ache in neck from pillow and think that caused it. Now just have a piercing headache over my left eye which is normal for me, I need new glasses.

Morning all 5.27 mmol/L at 6am. Little hi for my expectation. I was taking a lot of Kiwis for my metabolism. Stopping Kiwis and starting sugar free Metamucil. I will see how it will go in the coming week or so. Last weekend the weather was very hot. Yesterday was cloudy and cold. Happy Humpday. Have a nice day everyone.

Bowell - definitely not a warning, more a note to let people know not to feel bad if they have slightly higher numbers. I think some of the mods, and ourselves, were a little cautious newbies would find the numbers hard to reach and perhaps feel a bit down or like it was a bit of a competition.

So no, not a warning - just a 'please don't be disheartened if your levels don't match' note.
I appreciated the comment a lot. As a newbie with Dawn syndrome my levels are always 6-7 without eating and I was amazed at the 4s and 5s people keep getting. Even when I don’t eat I can’t get into the 4s so it was helpful to not feel discouraged about this xxx

As a newbie with dawn syndrome my levels are always between 6-7 fasting so I was amazed how many of you seem to live in the 4s or 5s and did feel disheartened so I found your post helpful. I have never reached 4s yet even when I don’t eat for ages

5.7 this morning…and the heat wave continues and warnings are back in effect. Joy….
Actually it’s not awful as it cools still at night.
Good workout this morning, half an hour walk, 20 min on the bike, shoulders, chest and biceps. Just finished a dog walk.
Apparently eating as I do, very low carb, is creating issues with our upcoming Japan trip….the restaurants that are on our itinerary are worried. I’m fairly fed up and basically said if they can’t give me a meat skewer and some veg I’ll just not the eat find some food elsewhere. They rely so heavily on rice and noodles. Sigh…I really don’t mean to cause any issues and I feel rather embarrassed to be causing confusion…I really don’t like earring from a set menu, luckily there are only five dinners that are “set”
Waiting on a call back from our tv and internet provider to renegotiate our contract. It’s something I do every two years and I hate it! Dealing with the devil…

Six point four when still in bed eight point one currently

Today I visit the nhs endo

Several weeks ago I had a pancreas scan and multitude blood tests. I followed these up with a letter asking for the results so today’s meeting would be more meaningful. Nothing in reply. This seems to be standard NHS

I’m hoping it’s simply a silo of silence and my results have actually hit someone’s desk .

I’m taking down print outs of my daily graphs which clearly show I’m stable at night at around six then rise to eight or nine when active .

Chat gpt advises I take all this info to today’s meeting. It also reckons I should talk about the possibility of a morning shot of long lasting insulin to go with my nighttime one.

I love the technology and await what any human endo reckons …..
