safe travels. enjoy your xmas
Would a book token hit the spot. I used to love getting those. Or a subscription to a magazine.
subscription to a mag seems like a good plan. their not an avid reader, however they did recently purchase a nice mirrorless camera :D thanks for suggestion!

holiday season can be one of the toughest times for people with diabetes to keep blood sugars within range.

I also just received my quarterly A1c results: 26 mmol/mol. My PCP texted to say the result is excellent. Happy Holidays to all.

26mmol/mol! awesome well below prediabetic levels what was your hba1c upon initial diagnosis?

@Bcgirl cgm's always seem to read a little lower for me. think some of dexcom cgm's can be calibrated if yours can, best done when graph is flat :) wish libre had that ability

Debbie I never know if the readings you post are good or not and never know if I should like

About 10 years ago, my A1c was 4; at one point it rose to 42 mmol/mol. Since then, I treat myself as prediabetic and follow a very strict diet—eating less, avoiding canned foods and preservatives, and choosing only fresh foods.

Morning everyone. My fasting blood glucose was 4.77 mmol/L around 6 a.m. The holiday season can be one of the toughest times for people with diabetes to keep blood sugars within range. I’ve been having a small amount of chocolate each day, but still keeping bread to a minimum—just one small piece of sourdough. I also just received my quarterly A1c results: 26 mmol/mol. My PCP texted to say the result is excellent. Happy Holidays to all.
A1c of 26 you have got to be pleased with that. :)

@grantg, I do calibrate the Dexcom, it’s a great feature. I must admit that my morning readings are about ten minutes apart…I glacé at my phone as I start coffee…then do a blood test when my morning routine is done. I don’t bother to calibrate in the morning because of this. It’s super close all day…I find the Dexcom far more accurate than the libre.
No blood test today but 5.7 on Dexcom.
A sunny but much cooler day today, hovering at zero
Gym was upper body weights and a 35 min bike ride.
