What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.7 this morning. Now mid evening. Had a great day at son's for Christmas lunch. On the menu, Beef, turkey, and Ham with lots of veg and trimmings, followed by dessert for those who had room and were able to eat it. I felt like a stuffed turkey myself after I had eaten! DIL bought me some chocolates for Christmas again! I tell her not to but she likes chocolate so thinks everyone else does too. I normally pass them on to my OH, except he has been diagnosed as pre-diabetic so that's not going to work in the future.

Grandchildren had a great Christmas with lots of presents. Both grandkids were well satisfied. Grandson was so excited waiting for Christmas morning, he hadn't been able to sleep. He'd woken his dad up at 12:00 midnight wanting to get up, then he woke him up again at 1:00, and again at 3:00. Dad wasn't too pleased! I thought he would be quite blasé about Christmas after all he is 16! But no, his excited was a joy to see. Amongst other things, I bought him a silly little stocking filler of some Grinch striped socks, he absolutely loved them, I was touched. Other grandchildren and their parents due to arrive for a visit later in the week. More excitement to come I hope.

My wife died this time last year and friends kindly invited me to spend the season with them in Majorca.

With a little hesitation I accepted the offer

The food has been plentiful. I’ve passed on the potatoes , puddings and breads but enjoyed everyone else .

Wine too has been abundant

This morning’s libre reading on waking is five point six

libre 3.8 fingerprick 4.9
daughter loved her gifts pretty surprised she didn't get out of bed til after 9. amazing how quickly she opened them up lol.

Went mainland to relavites house for dinner they were recently diagnosed type2 hba1c 92. shocked at their carb intake the amount of potatoes, parsnips, glazed carrots, third of jar of cranberry sauce! xmas pudding, chocolate yule log with custard alnogside trifle and went through almost an entire large tub of sweets. they complained tired not feeling great not surprised, Asked why don't you check glucose levels dsn has told them not to bother at all over the festive season as might cause unncessary stress besides apparently is going to walk it off today :/

Lots of complaints i wouldnt try anything apparently i need to live a little and get into the festive spirit. Own choice of food brought with me was lasanga with aubergine thin slices instead of pasta took some nuts to snack on :) skipped their soup leek and potato skipped all possible deserts they bought. did have a slice of my own lowish carb cheesecake with couple rasps ontop.

Today is tidying up day. get rid of some old clothes, all the boxes and find places to store all daughters pressies. trip to the recyling recentre and a walk its dry at the moment. Calling relative in a wee bit to check on them. Inviting them to mine for new years, will ofc ask them what they'd like. will make some keto deserts and hope that they like them.

My FBG was 5.22 mmol/L around 7 a.m. this morning. We had a lovely dinner last night with my wife and two sons—I made a rib-eye roast, and the kids really enjoyed it. I don’t eat red meat myself, but I did have my usual meal and a small piece of chocolate cake. I was pleasantly surprised my FBG wasn’t higher. Have a great day, everyone.

6.1 today.the day started out pretty nice, meaning no new snow and decent temperatures (-4). I went to the basement gym (the roads are still ugly) and did abs and yoga. I then went out to tidy up the shovelling….a few cm fell late yesterday. Now, at noon our time, the snow is falling once again, the wind has picked up and the temperatures will drop. Minus 15 tonight or colder. Winter hell.
Had a lovely chicken dinner last night within Lindt ball. Blood sugar was good all day. Leftovers tonight, my favourite!

Libre 5.8 newly activated last night. Closer to fingerprick this time around 5.7 already had a little coffee rest breakfast shortly before going to mainland for a swim might check out sales afterwards if anything decent alongside pop into m&s/Aldi grab some food shopping. Starbucks will be on the cards too

Enjoy your day

6.3 this freezing winter day. Minus 14 this morning, good news is that we’ll see the sun. The wind howled last night as the cold front came in. Yuk
Will workout downstairs today.
Having issues with eating. I have no appetite and when I do eat I’m full after a few bites. Hoping this passes.
