What's the best thing to do if I've been daft?

Type 2 diet controlled, usually low carbing but very occasionally doing stupid things like eating Nutella on white bread or (or maybe even, and) hot cross buns with lemon curd. I know this is part of some kind of rebellious phase of the process of accepting that I'm diabetic, I'll be thinking about how I stop making such daft decisions anon. In the meantime, if I have been daft and ended up with a two hour blood sugar of 10.6 and feeling really rubbish what's the best thing to do?

One bit of me thinks that perhaps going out for a walk to use some of it up would help, another bit of me just thinks to have a quiet few hours drinking tea and then an early night.

What would you suggest and why?

D0 whatever works for you. A nice sleep sounds like just the job!

You can do as the others suggest.....or go for a brisk walk or a little aerobic exercise which has the effect of helping to lower the Bg levels.

Make sure you drink plenty of fluids (water) as well. Together that should help lower your levels.

Thanks all :0)

A big drink of water was taken, then enough of a walk to get my daily steps tally up to 10,000 and a couple of cups of tea on getting back in; between the lot of them they ought to help...

It occurred to me as I was going round the block that the fact I've got my Desmond course tomorrow might be part of the reason for my mad carb binge today. I've promised myself that I'm not going to rock the boat but I'm thinking that might be quite challenging, particularly as they're going to be doing a packed lunch inspection and mine will be quorn and toms and lettuce and a small apple and no starchy carbs. So fingers crossed that I find a diplomatic way of defending my decisions...
