Is it my imagination or has Southport GP left the site after less than 24 hours? Can't find them anywhere.

Hi All .

I have temporarily removed the thread - so that the mod team can 'look into it' .
This was requested by a few posters in this thread - also I myself have been PM contacted about it too .

It will be put back ASAP if okay to do so .

Hope this explains things to all .

Thanks Anna.

I'm completely lost....

There were loads of blogs over the w/e involving a GP who was talking about an amazing achievement with some of his/her patients and extolling the virtues of John Briffa. As a result of responses & comments to admin, the blogs and OP have been hidden pending confirmation of authenticity. What on earth can anyone be doing over the w/e apart from being this site!!

It's funny because I was on here this weekend. Clearly zoned out!

Gezza, I wasn't on the site over the weekend, hence my lack of knowledge on this matter. I am still none the wiser tbh. Extolling the virtues of a patient for what? What was the claim or is it irrelevant? Soz mate, but it's half a story.

Southport GP opened a thread where he described a study he had carried out on 13 (I think) of his patients. He had put them on a low carb moderate fat diet and got stunning results in a relatively short time. I replied that it would not come as a surprise to this forum.

Sid looked at the detail and thought that it could be troll due to the sloppy use of measuring units. GP apologised.

It remains unclear if GP is genuine and the thread has been "temporarily" removed until his credentials can be established.

Oh ok I saw that title about 13 patients and low carb! I didn't open it though as I don't low carb so never have much that I can input in that area :)

Thanks squire. I think having a prefix of Dr. Or a suffix of GP is against the house rules anyway. Thank you for filling me in. I think most of us know that low-carb intake is good practice anyway and the poster should be removed anyway, for breaching protocol.

Mart.

The report was entirely believable - even if a protocol was breached. I can repost the OP or PM it if anyone wants it.

It would be an encouragement to us all if GPs were prepared to do such small-scale trials and so get the confidence in the diet.

Here are the quoted figures transcribed to a table by me which I think is allowable. The missing information was not quantified by the OP. Average HbA1C loss of 12 (ignoring 1st) 9.8 mmol/L stated by OP (if my memory serves me well).

I think this would defeat the purpose of the posts being temporarily removed by the administrators!

Hi All .

Here is the thread put back as promised, please note the new colour of user name to indicate a genuine HCP .

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43374

We have to work to protocol and as per forum rules with any HCP professional identity declarations .

Thanks Anna .
