Who are you voting for in the general election 2017?

Fallon isn't he a Tory?

It was pretty defining to me and means exactly what it says. Time for real hard line action.
May was Home Secretary, responsible for policing and security for 7 years, and PM since last year. There have been three major terrorist attacks under her watch. Why hasn't she done anything (apart from cutting spending on policing)?
What more is she going to do now?

.

[QUOTE="Spencer67, post: 1478818, member: 1i like May she's diabetic and down to earth, one of us so to speak...that's what i think anyway and i don't want a big argument about it cos really i'm not that bothered [/QUOTE]

1. No, she's not like us - we are human beings.
2. So why did you post, then?

Have a soundbite.....the latest, "enough is enough". Let's see how long this one lasts......

I think we've already had the usual we should undermine encryption response. That would destroy e-commerce completely and let terrorists and criminals empty your bank account. It's usually accompanied by the "if you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear" nonsense. Anyone who feels that way is welcome to write their bank account details on the back of a postcard and send them to this address....
The response should be proper intelligence led policing and investigation.

There will be cuts in real terms. The schools budget proposed by the Conservatives mean less spent per pupil. They do not take into account extra costs over the next few years. Even head teachers who are going to receive 'increases' are opposed to these proposals, saying that even with their schools' 'increase' they will have to cut teachers.
The budget for the free school breakfast is 6.7p per pupil. Enough for half a boiled egg or 7.5 gms of cornflakes. It is not going to replace the benefit of a nutritious meal for young children.

Except there's no one left to do it. Hello, anybody there.....? Who cut the police?

i like Andy Burnham, the new Manchester mayor

I would also have voted for Andy Burnham had I lived in Manchester. I've been watching him for a long time. I am certainly not a socialist or labour fan but would have put that to one side.

My thinking is simple. The very most important thing that faces our country right now is Brexit and the negotiations that are starting in less than 2 weeks. Get that wrong and we are all in the cow pats. Mrs May is far better placed to carry this forward. She knows the EU leaders and how their minds work. She has always been a cautious lady. I am sure she is as well prepared as it is possible to be. She is well aware of the difficult task before her and I have every confidence she will do whatever she can for the good of the UK. It may not be enough, but there is no-one else better placed to try. What she doesn't need, and what will never help, are opposition MPs "getting in the way".

As an example she has refused to say how/if she will protect the residence of EU citizens in the UK because she knows this is a negotiating tool to gain protection for UK citizens living in Europe. She can't play her hand or she will give the game away. Corbyn has already played his hand.

Most of his MPs are against him. His cabinet is full of newbies, they are divided and ill prepared. They are not fit to take us through Brexit. Once Brexit is sorted then the other matters will come to the fore.

I have never voted for the PM we can't we are mere individuals. I always vote for the best candidate (In my view) who will serve my constituency the best. If I was able to vote for the PM.....Elvis everytime

i like Andy Burnham, the new Manchester mayor, i'd have voted for him
Politics and religion is always a dodgy subject

I agree on Andy Burnham - he seems a decent guy. I also like Chuka Umunna.
When I was training people you were always told stay off sex and religion. Politics were difficult when it was Government proposals and legislation you were talking about.

"Breakfast means breakfast".

Just keep in mind any clever accountant can play around with figures and massage them to look a certain way. Tories are no different. They do the same with the nhs expense. To prove a point. We aren't worth saving, our diabetic lives are worth nothing in the tories eyes. Until it affects them personally, they wear blinkers!
Don't be taken in by liars!

1.
2. So why call an election?
3. Had you not noticed, we're there already? Been down the shops lately?
4. Than whom? Says who? Paul Dacre?
5. Which is why she did so well at the 2016 Euro Summit, obviously. Cold shoulder, anyone?
6. So cautious she keeps changing her mind.
7. If you call having your head in a bucket well-prepared.
8. That's why she's bricking it.
9. Or her party donors, maybe?
10. Says who?
11. More like stopping her jumping off a cliff....
12. Because she's got no idea what she's going to do?
13. This is not a game of cards. No winner take all.
14. Not after he's been elected PM.
15. Daily Mail again?

My thinking is simple. The very most important thing that faces our country right now is Brexit
It is the biggest crisis facing the country since the second world war, and the other parotted phrase "no deal is better than a bad deal" is complete nonsense. No deal is the worst outcome there is. We have been pretending that were are negotiating from a position of strength. We are not.
As an example she has refused to say how/if she will protect the residence of EU citizens in the UK because she knows this is a negotiating tool to gain protection for UK citizens living in Europe.
Can't agree. This us a shameful tactic and no way to negotiate a reciprocal agreement for out citizens in Europe. It amounts to holding EU nationals as hostages in the negotiations. Deplorable.

Most of his MPs are against him

I had assumed that Corbyn would be toast on Friday morning; but, if the result is not as bad as predicted earlier in the campaign, he may have entrenched his position.
