Hi, I've been type 2 for 5 years with reasonable control on 4 Metformin daily. My most recent blood tests last week showed the best results ever for me. I've lost almost 3st, BMI 27, HBA1C 45 (6.3), cholesterol 3.8, much lower triglycerides and everything else normal. My GP actually said that my HBA1C figure was below the treatment range. However the only thing that's changed is a reduction from 4 to 2 Metformin. The statin and BP tablet remain (BP 138/70). I was hoping to be diet controlled. Why would my doctor still think Metformin is required?
