My BMI is 21 now. The weight is coming off quickly. I'm in a state of permanent exhaustion and frankly sick of the whole thing, not to mention worried. I'm not doing any exercise and my home is suffering and that gets me down too because I'm very houseproud.
I should have said I was 78 kilos and I'm now 51 kilos.
AndBreathe, I haven't checked my weight month by month. I've just hopped on the scales when I've dared because it seems to be running away with me. I'm only 5ft 2lbs so I was way overweight before and that was put down to the underactive thyroid. Yes I'm drinking but not excessively. I'm sure I'm not dehydrated, just exhausted.
I'm going to wait I think because he's really the guy to see. I've stuck it out this long, I don't think I'll expire in the interim.
I keep copious notes in my diary so I'll take that with me. I'll also try drinking a bit more. It's strange because I thought diabetics had a raging thirst but I haven't.
I know I'm steadily losing the weight because of how often I'm having to buy new clothes. I love that aspect of it but that's about all!
Yes I eat cheese and sometimes blueberries but I can't bear cream. Speaking of eggs, I get through an awful lot of those too but they have a binding effect which I try to offest with broccoli but it doesn't always work and funnily enough, all laxatives seem to contain something with "ose" so I steer clear of those too.
Maybe today just got me to a really low point with the 10.8. It really freaked me, especially when it was there so long after just one slice of bread.... so maybe these kind words were just what I needed to spur me on to get to September 30th.
Thank you AndBreathe and Bluetit1802. I'm very grateful
I don't want to scare you because it's not a medical emergency because you have a meter and are stopping your bg going too high by not eatingI'm going to test now. I'll go wash my hands and report back....
on a slice of bread, 10 at 2 and 4hr afterwards, is more than enough, treatment on a sunday? there should be someone oncall. and will be at least an appointment set up for tomorrow@jack412 - I honestly cannot honestly see A&E being particularly welcoming to Koukla, based on a reading on 10 or 11. It doesn't work that way in the UK. We might wish it did, but it doesn't.
AndBreathe, I didn't decide I didn't want to lose more weight. I was always very petite and played tennis most days until I had a Stroke at the age of 56 and was wheelchair bound for quite a while, then the weight piling on with the thyroid. I'm happy at this weight, in fact I'd go a touch lower but my children don't think I look right and they're shocked that it's come off so quickly. I'm sorry, I tried to incorporate all of your questions into my reply.
I've just done my blood and it's 7.8 now.
