30 mins walking and being taken on open day tour of breast unit today. Truly exceptional consultants, radiologists, oncologists, nurses, staff and equipment.
Actually 30 mins turned out to be almost 3 hours but such an education to take back to our GP Patient Group. Still felt **** but well worth going. Just wishes others attended too. Women over 50 all have scans.
Over 1 person a day in our hospital is diagnosed with breast cancer so myself and a friend went to support them today to raise awareness with patients at our Practice.

Done some walking and talking, but that's been my exercise for today. My lovely consultant and chief radiologist welcomed me like dear friends... Truly fantastic people.

Tomorrow I will at least get out for my 10000 steps and hopefully start packing up a few boxes for moving...

I re read some of David Cavans book and going to take his advice about how sitting for 2 hours at a time watching TV increases waist line , I'm going to make sure I stand /move for 5 minutes every hour throughout the day as well as my 30 minutes.

Our bodies aren't designed to sit down for hours watching TV etc. My GP has wonderful computer "raisers" on his desk so that he can stand on purpose whilst seeing patients. The computer screens on this raiser which he purchased himself for £350 are brilliant. He says its imperative to stand and keep your motility going and adding on that we used to hunt and gather food and make the fires etc before eating and wash utensils, tools etc...

So although moving and our new place hasn't got room currently for a dishwasher I'm actually seeing washing up now as exercise!!

One 6500 step walk today. Getting back into something each day now again.

Don't think I'd ever see washing dishes as a bonus lol

It does make sense though .

Just found this.
Been to the summer thread. I am a bit behind, having been ill, then convalescing.

Where I come from keepy uppies involves kicking or heading a football for as long as possible, and not letting it touch the ground. That could take me until spring to master that skill.
So will stick to swimming pool , oldies gym, supermarket staggering and getting of by backside and giving it a shake as much as possible.
Any other innovative ways to move more I will report if I think of something. Today I have been in the gym with people old enough to be my parents. I have been drinking lots of water, so when I need the lav (every 20 mins or so during waking hours) I have headed to the upstairs one if I am downstairs and the downstairs one if I am upstairs. Mr Pipp thinks I have gone barmy.

Btw, @Jamrox, is there a reason this thread is just for T2s, or have I got that wrong?

Where is everyone?
Was it something I said? :(
Today I have been to a 45 minute aquafit class then had a swim for 15 minutes. Joints were sore after gym yesterday, and when I slowed down in the pool the aqua coach told me off for slacking! Cheek! I am old enough to be mum to her and most of the people in the water too. Only made me determined to show them up tomorrow.
I have had a snozze after the morning exercise, err I mean activity.;) About to go and reacquaint myself with vacuum cleaner, mop, bucket and maybe even chamois leather.

Just tried to do 3 hrs gardening again today. Get back to work after 3 biopsies in 9 days and then the most evil chronic pain in neck and head I have ever experienced.
So easing my way back in to exercise. Hopefully back to gym Friday...

Do you think, perhaps, taking it easy for a few days could be in order?
Your work is heavy exercise, so more on top of that when you are in pain sounds a bit tough.

Thanks @Pipp. Trouble is I need for my brain well being to keep active....:):). Otherwise I'm just overwhelmed by the pain...
My customers know the last 10days have been hell for me but I also need to keep brain positive as I get results next Monday...I know two from 6 resukts were abnormal do had 5 more samples taken last Friday.
Need to just do the lighter sort of oruning rather than the digging for a few more days.
Hopefully can get to do a few bits at hym Fri afternoon.

Yes, I understand that. We have to deal with the anxiety of waiting however we can.
Best wishes, hope all goes well.

Aquafit 50 mins today.

Have the rest of you been slacking, or too busy to post?

Sorry. Three more barrowloads of compost shifted on the allotment and the bays ready now for the autumn clear-up. Very satisfying. Worked up a good sweat with my little screwdriver getting the screws out of the front palletts that were put in with a power tool!
In my Bad Back Book I've reached the food guide, which alas is not helpful to us. Never mind, the advice on posture, movement and relaxation is great. No residual aches and pains from the allotment so far.

2hrs just cutting down perennials... Also had photos taken at lunch time for winning a Patient Group Award. (Took more exercise to get Practice Manager to smile than gardening for 2 hours!)
Going to try and get back to 6 hours gardening tomorrow..and just the 2 diazepam... Oh and then a long soak!!!

Hello Everyone. I've finally been swimming! I swam for 40 minutes and did 60 lengths which is the equivalent to 30 in a standard pool. Monday I was exercised by my grandson with football and bike pushing. I must start to do more each day. :)

Today my activity has been picking apples. From a tree, not Tesco! Ok, so I needed to sit down and rest a lot but there was lots of stretching for the hard to reach ones, and bending to pick the wind fall ones. Also a bit of ducking and dodging the ones falling from the tree. All in all that took 90 mins. Then I spent another 25 mins throwing the ball for the dog. Most of the time that was me throwing and me retrieving the ball for the pampered pooch, who likes his staff to do his bidding.
I think there will be more activity later, me standing peeling and preparing the apples for some other lucky people to eat in the legendary pies I make but not longer consume. Ah well, keeps me out of mischief.
