Hi!

I'm just wondering if anyone else struggles with placement for the wired pumps. I've been on a TSlim for 4 weeks now and I'm struggling to find places to put my cannula that actually seem to work. I'm size UK 16 and have chub!

Any ideas welcome

Thanks

It won’t be exclusive to the fact it’s a tubes pump

If you contact tandem and discuss it with them they may have alternative cannulas to try in the same way there is needles

Have you spoken to your hospital team about this? If this is your first pump, it takes time and hard work to get your settings right, and can be frustrating to start with, but most people find it much better than mdi after a while.

Which cannulas are you using, and where are you putting them?

I agree with both above I’d see if you can trial some different cannulas as I doubt it’s due to your size as I’m a size 18 and I put mine in my chub and they work fine. I’m on Medtronic though so can’t advise on what cannulas are available.

I know @EllieM is on Tandem and may have more ideas on what is available

I think chub helps (yes I have plenty). I'm on a tandem with steel truesteel canula, but there are at least two other types that you can try.

My main issue is reaching behind me to insert a cannula into my backside/buttocks. I find it hard to see what I'm doing.

I find I have a lot of real estate on my legs, even though I have to avoid areas on my thighs which I overused 30 years ago...

I definitely suggest you talk to your team asap.

Yes i do, have been on it for a year, they do a longer tube that wil;l easily reach your leg, so often do that, that gives my chest a rest Lol.
