Hi everyone,
I am a healthcare worker and work 12 hour shifts which are quite physical and it has taken me a while to get my sugars right. I have now been put onto night shift for a month. I live in the Republic of Ireland since the Covid outbreak so am still in the process of trying to get listed with a Consultant etc etc so don't have much help on hand at the moment.
Long story short...... wondering how best to manage my diabetes on night shift. I normally take a basal insulin (Lantus) split 8 units at night and / 2 units in the morning with Humalog before meals. I have been a diabetic for 30 years so test regularly as my awareness is not what it was in the past.
I would appreciate any advice - I am starting tonight and a little anxious !!
