Salami slices layered between kitchen roll. In my microwave I find 2 mins on high about right, (you may need to experiment) once cooled you have delicious crispy crunchy crisps.
I have just given this a try, I had a piece of home made salami that I sliced thin and nuked for two minutes.

It gave the chillies in it a bit of a lift as well. :D

Hi guys,

Are there any healthy snacks out there. I am mourning the crisp aisle and the chocolate aisle and the cake aisle and the......:arghh:. I miss Papa John's once a week. (Other pizza companies are available).

Isn’t it interesting that we still blame things on cravings without figuring out why we crave? Why is it that we will walk to the refrigerator and stand there trying to figure out what to eat?

My sister (5th of 5), incredibly fit all her life, could open a 10c bag of potato chips (remember those?) eat a few and toss the rest away. Now, 50 years later, she is the same way and wonders, openly, why everyone is not the same way.

In the last 10 years, the answer is showing up in science even though the professionals will not accept the changer. For them it is still blame the patient. The developing science is the MicroBiome a massive collection of microbes: trillions of them inside your body. By far, there are more of them than there are cells in your body.

Guess what they are doing? They are getting you to eat what they want you to eat. They change in culture by what you actually eat but they are the craving entity in your system. If you have been giving then chocolate then they have developed a balance to consume, and crave more, chocolate. I wish I could get them to crave salads. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Do yourself a favor, look up Microbiome, Microbiota and the like. We need to educate ourselves and hope to educate the doctors and medical professionals. This in itself needs to be a major discussion here in this forum, not just a footnote.

Hi, I know you said you don't want to cook, however, this isn't cooking its blasting in a microwave.

Salami slices layered between kitchen roll. In my microwave I find 2 mins on high about right, (you may need to experiment) once cooled you have delicious crispy crunchy crisps.

Another tasty snack, this is a little bit of cooking, but, can be done while something else is in the oven. Cut halloumi cheese into fat chip size pieces, wrap each one in streaky bacon, cook until bacon is cooked, I do turn mine so the bacon crisps all round and I do cook them really well as I like my bacon on the crispier side. These can be eaten hot or cold and are very moreish. I made them a week or so ago and posted a picture, didn't know what to call them but they have been christened halloumi thingies.
These both sound delicious! How about Halloumi Bacon Bites? :):hungry:

Cucumber or celery sticks and cream cheese?
Nuts
Also, Jacobs Baked Cheddars are only 1.8g carb per biscuit.

Have discovered Pea snacks at Aldi. Red Thai Chilli are 10g per bag,Malaysian Spciy Curry are 8.7. I find these are just enough in a pack to take the edge off when needing a snack attack.

My favourite snacks are cheese, almond butter with celery or a couple of squares of Ritter sport choc from Lidl

The next two games are on at 4:0 am, so it will be the normal heartstarter black coffee. I do not think I will feel like eating that early.
