Hi.
İs anyone on this Once a day İnsulin.
Pros and cons.

My new endocrinologist wants to move me onto Xultophy But I have so many questions. Due to other health issues and medications. I was on CORDARONE Amiodarone. For far too long and suffered side effects Hypothyroidism, metabolic issues, extreme weight gain, breathing problems, bradycardia with super ventricular tachycardia issue. High blood pressure. And lung toxicity due to CORDARONE. I'm on NDT raw thyroid Armour Sotahexalol, Tolura, Bilamcar LanzAcid 30mg for 3 years. Spironolacton 25mg As well as vitamins and minerals as supplements for thyroid and heart. I'm on insulin ( Insulatard 37 units am 39 pm ) Jardiance 10 mg am I have read your warning about Thyroid Tumors And this scares the hell out of me. I'm want help and advice and support ?s this medication ok for me With all the drugs in on etc

HI @derv and welcome to the forums.

I can see why, given your past history, you are nervous about the possibility of side effects. Having said that, most/many drugs have a massive list of possible side effects, some of which can be very scary, so this is a discussion that you really need to have with your endocrinologist. (Googling suggests that the cautions here are based on a rat study and not on human results.?)

Now we're not medical professionals here and can't make specific medical recommendations. However we can give moral support and describe any experiences we have personally had with different medications.

It looks to me that xultophy has been in the UK since 2019. There are only a few threads about it in these forums but here they are anyway.

You might also want to have a look at discussions on degludec and liraglutide, since xultophy appears to be a mixture of the two.

Have you spoken about your concerns to your endocrinologist?

(Given your other conditions, this may or may not be appropriate, but have you considered a dietary approach to help with your T2? Many many of the T2s here have had good results by reducing the carbs in their diet, and either reduced or even eliminated their other medications. You have to be careful about this if you are on insulin because you don't want hypos.)

Good luck. Hopefully some T2s with experience of xultophy (or equivalents) will post soon.
