I'd say not, it's more 'I have to eat what my wife likes' !! LOL Married 35 years and just had to finally give in to that!
I think most of us have felt that too. One new thing I found workable was Mrs makes a Keto waffle and made strawberry jam with Erythritol and a little of that, with butter....new and awesome!!Now I have to retrain myself, unlearn stuff, learn new stuff. I don't crave carbs but I know "healthy" carb meal options. Suddenly I'm a novice again.
On family support. My wife now knows to shop for low carb bread. And recently my 7 yo daughter’s teacher noted on her end of term report that she recognised healthy foods now. So it is beginning to rub off on the family now.

Great topic @jjraak , I hadn't really thought about it. I guess that is in part due to being fortunate enough to have a good endo, really good. I'm not just dealing with diabetes, but also cystic fibrosis (There are similarities that overlap both conditions) which he has a lot of experience with. We have a good working relationship. He knows I'm not ignorant on either condition . This leads to a lot of positive outcomes and stable control.
First endo I had wasn't worth going back to, but that's okay it has led me to the right one.
Liking the spin on that.
And great outcome
Always impressed by your knowledge on subjects and enjoy reading your posts.
Sounds like that's all a handful to manage, Kudos that I can't see that reflected in your posts, they always seem informative, straight talking but very upbeat
Maybe I should try bring more honest with my doctor/s at the surgery.
Maybe once they know I'm not quite the nodding dog they might be used to, they might begin to take more interest in the fact I'm back to normal numbers now,
and be a bit more curious about how I managed it .mmhh
Something to ponder.
Have a good un, @Tophat1900
Hope the day goes well for you
@jjraak - For me, my primary care team is me. Nobody cares about my health more than I do. Of course, my OH is part of it too, as he is our main cook, but I am the one who has to ensure I'm doing as I should.
I see my GP as secondary care, and resource (blood test etc) provider. Thankfully, I haven't required specialist care for my diabetes, but for other things, I also see my GP as the signposter to specialist services.
My GP (has just moved, so will be referred to in the past tense, unfortunately) freely admits that I usually know far more about my body and what ails me than she does, and was always keen on a collaborative approach. She learned a lot on my AndBreatheLearningLipids Programme. Professor Sikaris and I taught her a lot
I'm not particularly looking forward to nominating her successor, but it'll have to happen soon.
got mine in Sainsburys, local store the smaller type....in among the jelly / desert stuff .Chia isn't something I have ever seen over here, it doesn't look very appetising TBH! I'll look in our one-and-only healthfood shop next time I'm down there.

I've dabbled with it..
i tried it on foods..disliked
and tentatively tried it as pudding... water /milk/sweetener/cocoa..not unpleasant.
deffo scope for actually making that recipe posted and enjoying it.
Back to 'island life' - no Sainsbury's here! Not much here once outside the capital, to be honest!
There's an allegedly "healthy diet" and there's a diet that helps with T2 and putting it into remission. They don't always align very well....She follows a heathy diet
Which version of healthy though? The eatwell version (low fat, high carb, high fruit) that makes diabetics worse? She follows a heathy diet, and I didn't, really.
They do tend to stock it in Holland and Barrett, yes, certainly (“across”) over here. I remember the other one opposite the bank and M and S. Closed down a few years ago.Chia isn't something I have ever seen over here, it doesn't look very appetising TBH! I'll look in our one-and-only healthfood shop next time I'm down there.
