Hi all,

I'm new. I have controlled high blood pressure and I know I am overweight - really struggle with weight management. Each year at my BP check I have my bloods done. Last year the nurse said I need to be careful with my sugars as each year they keep nudging upwards and at that trend I only have 2-3 years before I'm classed as pre-diabetic.

A while back I saw that Zoe was doing a health thing where you get a CGM, and they get you to log your meals and take blood and a poo sample and then they let you know what foods are best for you etc. Well I'm impatient and I'm trying to understand the glucose readings.

The three graphs are attached. In the first one I had a baked potato, baked beans and salad - I assume that the huge spike isn't ideal?

In the second one I had to eat three muffins they sent for breakfast, then two for lunch and what ever after that. I did that and then had a small portion of pasta for tea because I wasn't too hungry. I had breakfast at about 7.30am, lunch at 11.30am and tea at around 6pm.

The third graph is today so far. I had Sunday lunch at midday - lamb, honey roasted carrots and parsnip, cabbage, roasties, gravy and mint sauce.

Is it 'normal' for my glucose levels to bounce as they seem to even when I haven't snacked? Is this a sign of insulin resistance?

Are the spikes too high from my base rate for each meal? at first I thought they were okay (apart from the baked potato one) because they don't go above 10 but after reading some other things I'm now not so sure.

My peaks are quite spiky, not rounded suggesting fast increases and sharp drops - is this bad? The Zoe app says your aiming for rollings hills not rocky mountains.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
