Colds, flu + Paleo diets The recent spell of cold weather appears to have brought with it an increase in cold and flu symptoms. Colds, infections and illnesses are known to cause a pronounced effect on blood sugar levels. Blood testing more often than usual is recommended through a period of illness. Diabetes and illness If you have not received a free flu jab this winter, be aware of the symptoms that flu can present as influenza tend to have a stronger effect on blood sugars than the common cold.
