Evening all

Yesterday:

B: Two poached eggs topped with a knob of butter, avocado and three crevettes seasoned with a good grinding of black pepper.
Water to swallow tablet.
Espresso.

L: Walnut and mushroom nut roast made with onions, eggs and flax 'egg', (positively no breadcrumbs) garlic, vegetable stock and rosemary.
Steamed Brussels sprouts with toasted slivered almonds.
Carrots cut on the diagonal, onions and apple peel sautéed in butter.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.

D: Seafood salad made with mussels and brown shrimps, lettuce, Romano peppers, celery, baby plum tomatoes, Kalamata olives, flat-leaf parsley and salad onions, with a dollop of home-made aioli for dipping, topped with roasted macadamia nuts.
Water to swallow tablet.

Hi @cdpm. You may find steaming your cauliflower retains more flavour than boiling. It doesn't take long; 4 minutes is ample.
Please be aware, you probably are, that your blood glucose reading one hour later is well within the target range.

Hi @cdpm. You may find steaming your cauliflower retains more flavour than boiling. It doesn't take long; 4 minutes is ample.
Please be aware, you probably are, that your blood glucose reading one hour later is well within the target range.
Will this allow it to be mashed with a simple potato masher?
I only have a pot and lid.
It took a few hours to get soft enough to mash.
I've never steamed veges before so I'm not familiar with it.

Hi cdpm. I find cauliflower in particular can be steamed very quickly. Broccoli takes a little longer.
If in a hurry, may be better to fry or roast carrots.

If you resort to boiling, I'd reserve the vegetable cooking water for your next home-made soup.

Prawns and brown shrimps.
Almonds, hazelnuts and pecans.
Water to drink.

Mid-afternoon: black filter coffee

D: Smoked salmon and cream cheese salad made with lettuce, celery, baby plum tomatoes, salad onions, hummus, Kalamata olives and Romano peppers, dressed with olive oil, lemon verbena and a touch of lemon juice, topped with walnut halves.
Water to wash down tablets.

Steamed French beans and mangetout with a knob of butter and toasted pistachios.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
Four squares, Montezuma's Absolute Black 100% cocoa chocolate.

D: Seafood salad made with king prawns and brown shrimps, avocado, baby plum tomatoes, salad onions and halkidiki olives with home-made aioli for dipping and topped with roasted macadamia nuts.

Hi @cdpm.

May I suggest you try your hand at growing some culinary herbs? Perennials like bay, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage and thyme are easy to grow in pots or in the ground and would transform your soups and salad dressings.

Roast cauliflower with Egyptian duqqah using toasted, crushed almonds. hazelnuts, pistachios with sesame, fennel, cumin and coriander seeds.
A small portion of hummus with Kalamata olives.
Salad using cucumber, rocket, salad onions, raspberries, strawberry halves and mint, dressed with olive oil, garlic, a touch of lemon juice and topped with toasted sesame seeds.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
