Type 2 Life

I feel like the penny has just dropped!
I couldn't understand why I had to have another blood pressure tablet. I'd cut out whole grain out of my diet on lchf.
Phew! Those low carb tortillas might help but if not some cereal has to come back into my diet.
I cannot risk a heart problem on top of everything else!
Sorry whole grain I won't neglect you again. lol

Hi Folks

My morning reading was 6.8 today, which is the highest it has been since well before Christmas.

I was a bit surprised because my reading before tea was 4.6, which is the lowest it has been for even longer, and I did not feel I had done anything particularly stupid at tea last night.

I checked and confirmed both results, having washed my hands again, and I haven't changed to a new box of strips overnight either.

All i can think of was that I had a rather disturbed night, due to lashing rain and did not sleep well as a result, although I did not feel over - tired this morning.

If anything, I think I am getting over a cold, so I can't pin it on that, and I had a rest day from my exercise bike yesterday too, so I can't put the low reading down to increased exercise levels.

Now, I guess 6.8 is not the end of the world, but it is a lot higher than I have come to expect!

Tim I think you are in a similar position to me, wanting very tight control and feeling bad when it doesn't happen. I've been using this thread to try and help me understand but I've more questions than answers. I still don't understand when food, exercise etc is stable why readings can go all over the place. I'm also looking at sleep, stress and even the weather as to see if these impact on readings. I've been diagnosed almost a year so would like to hear from people with more experience. Do hope it calms down soon for you.

Soooo hba1c has come back as 54 so I guess that about 6.7 maybe???
GP want to see me monday. I wonder why?
Mind u they tested cholesterol, liver, kidneys, thyroid etc.
I should have taken friday appointment instead.
The suspense may kill me. :(

How did you get on at clinic today @loulou99782 ?
Clinic was OK but my oxygen SATs were on the lower side at 95% so had a nebulizer while I was in clinic. Got a lung function test next time I go to see the consultant. They have put my steriods uoto 45mg a day for a week then reduce them by 5mg a week till I see the Asthma nurse in 2wks, still got 10 days to go on the antibiotics:rolleyes:

4.6 this morning. Much happier with this reading than the 6's I was having a week ago. Still do not understand - could be slightly lower carbs, exercise about the same.

Fbg 9.5 due to missing jab before dinner and a naughty too. I'm a nut case. I know what it does but when I'm upset I neglect my diabetes. It just gets too much for me when I get too stressed.
Back on track thou. Low carb breakfast with the normal 15mins before injection and tablets earlier.
Argh!!!!........
I'll be ok. It's just a hiccup.
I'm back on the horse. lol
