This might seem a daft question and maybe I should go and look in the book.
I've walked 4.5 miles ( about 450 calories ) this mooring . If I do 800 calories today that means my net calories add 350 for the day , is this to low or will it be ok. If I do this every day will my body think I'm starving ?
MFP is My Fitness Pal@ EdMac I feel fine and what you said makes sense..
@AndBreathe what does MFP stand for ?I tend not to add back calories either most of the time . I just wondered if a net of 350 was to low.
Now that's worth keeping up with!!!! Well done youHi All
Thanks for your replies. I have just finished week one on the 8 week blood sugar diet and I had my weigh in today. I have lost 6lb in a week which I'm pleased with and 1 inch off my waist. I know this sort of weight loss will not continue but it does give you a boost to continue with the diet. My blood sugars have definitely been better I'm now getting readings in the pre-diabetic range.![]()
I have stuck religiously to less than 800 calories a day, stayed low carb. I know if you lose weight on a diet it tends to be the most in the first week, but this is disheartening. Blood sugars in the 7s all the time, I'd like them lower. Any ideas?Has your Vitamin D3 level been tested? Being deficient can block attempts at weight loss. Worked like a charm for me - started losing weight within a short time after starting supplementation.Help!!! Second weeks weigh in lost half a poundI have stuck religiously to less than 800 calories a day, stayed low carb. Hi, I did this twice (the second time systematically) and intend to do this again once I've finished my end of semester marking, followed up by a maintenance diet and up my exercise.Hi I was just wondering if anyone out there is on this diet. I have just started it on Monday and have lost 4lb already. My fasting bloods are down from 7.5 to 5.9 although they do fluctuate. I am finding it hard going as I'm craving bread especially in the mornings not too bad the rest of the day. If anyone else is doing this diet I would love to hear how you are getting on as I think I'm going to need a lot of support to do it for 8 weeks!
I'm going away for the weekend so I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with eating out!
Cheers

Hi Badass,I started diet 3 weeks ago against the advice of my diabetes specialist, although she has agreed to monitor test my bloods etcetera in 8 weeks. I am type 2 on insulin and have lost 13 pounds which is fantastic. My glucose readings have dropped significantly and I have reduced the medication considerably. On a good day I have not required any insulin as readings between 5.4 -7.0. On a no insulin day it is great freedom not having to worry about typos. I have also noticed a reduction in blood pressure .On the down side ketosis is meant to be a problem and the change from poor control to good control may initially have a detrimental effect if you have retinopathy problems so I am told. But I am going to stick with it as at the moment t feel great
