Type 2 Life

@Providence 62 - Hello Nuala, :) I was going to suggest using your phone to set a time/alarm. Usually after several weeks your system should settle as it can take up to a couple of months to reach it's full effect. But, it is worth it as you said for good blood sugar control. William:)

Stuck in France due to weather. It's grey and wet. Control has been good but eaten my body weight in cheese :) hoping weather better tomorrow so we can fly home.

Finding diabetes is making me a 'want to be home' person, not me at all and need to work out how to conquer that - been away can be so challenging. All this monitoring etc is so waring - maybe I just have to suck it up as that's my life now. Just feeling a bit sorry for myself I guess. Sorry for being a miserable ****** tonight

@ickihun - When are you going to see the Diabetic Nurse? What other tablets apart from Metformin have you been on Vicky? I am at the Hospital next Monday to see the Liver Specialist about the Fibrosis. And R sees the Dietician a few days later. :)
@liam1955 is this your first appointment about your liver fibrosis? Have you read up on what your condition is?

@PenfoldAPD I think we need to have a chat once your home. Diabetics get up to all kinds. Its early days for you. Once you relax with your treatment you will be further a field than france.
Ive lived in africa for 3 months and it never stopped me doing everything i wanted to do. Low carbing doesnt have to be about doing without but just different portion sizes. Loads of great cheese is ok short term, just like eating foreign food but having just a egg cup or 2 of rice not half a plate.
Are you being too strict on yourself?

@ickihun - Yes Vicky, 1st visit to see Specialist. Have had a Fibroscan 2 months ago, had bloods done, got to take urine sample and list of all medications. Have had a good read up on Fibrosis. And got all family history of Liver problems written down. William x

I bet it feels like a long time since scan.? Hopefully they can manipulate it back into a 100% healthy liver again. It might be very very slow thou. ♡♥♡

Hi William

I have had a close look at my phone and see that I can set several alarms daily...brilliant!! - I need to get with the 21st Century!

Thanks,

Nuala

Hey Nuala, That's a brilliant idea. I have a small tin the size of a snuff box that has a picture of sweet peas on it as I take other tablets during the day (Blood Pressure tablets 3 a day) and others. William:)

I am a high maintenance diabetic, got to have the expensive gear.

High sugar through the night so I'm awake again but this time my cheeky money woke for a wee too. We are now watching blaze on repeat. :(
I want good sleep and my bed. I guess I'd better turn the heating up. Cold morning and very windy here.
Oh I think I'm losing heart on lchf again. I need to either do it properly or not at all.
I can see great bgs with insulin too but I can honestly say it cannot keep me med free. Maybe because I was eating too much protein that was producing huge amounts of blood glucose too. Obviously not as much as sugar or carbs but still higher than I'd prefer. If I have to inject insulin which covers carbs too why am I struggling to keep to lchf without weight loss?
I think I will give low carb less protein one more shot as you know they say "god loves a trier".
My trouble is my personality. I get bored with the same routine, very quickly. I know having to readapt for the toddler is unsettling too so considering I think I do very well.
I'm just concerned that my fight will be all out by the time I have the time to just concentrate on me.
Hubby seems more settled lately but he can have flare ups when we least expect too.
Maybe I need a deserted island and wifi all to myself. Ha ha
A tired Vicky moaning. Sorry.

Sending you big hugs, Vicky.
I can't offer any advice because I dont have the merest fraction of the knowledge and experience that you do, but I can offer hugs and support. You are always the first to be there for other people, no matter what, and we want you to know that we're here for you too.
I'm not surprised that you're feeling down and demoralised; lack of sleep and the constant demands of others will drag anyone down, no matter how much you love them, and you have a number of people who rely heavily on you, so you must feel as if you have to be Superwoman at times.
But you know it's true that you can't look after others if you don't look after yourself first (because I've heard you tell others that!) so grab all the virtual hugs which will be coming your way once people read your post, and make sure today you are kind to yourself and get what YOU need for a change - whatever it may be.
PM me if you want a chat and an off-load - I'm a great,non-judgemental listener!
Big, BIG hugs xxx

Don't apologise, I empathise and just hope you find relief. Take care :)

I think that's why it works so well, Kevin, don't you? We all know that this is the place to come when we need to offload, and we remember those who offered their love and support, so we make sure we're there for them when they need it too. Long live this community! :)
