Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

I was at 190 this AM - at least it was under 200.

Was looking through my med notes and realized the last few days that I was fasting over 200, I was having to take 2 allergy pills before I went to sleep. Last night I tried 1 and got the 190. I will keep a record of numbers when I am just using 1 and compare at the end of the week.

6.7 first thing this morning which is high for me so tested again and 6.0. Travelled back home today so not tested since.

Nothing wrong with having an occasional evening off, and your reading is still below 7 which I regard as ok.
But you do seem to have been more relaxed since your last HbA1c test results. Nothing wrong with that either as your readings are still below 7, but not as low as previously.
I am having my 12 month HbA1c test this Thursday and should get the results the following week. I am hoping and expecting that the results will be in the 30s, and suspect that if that is the case I might become more complacent.

Defo correct. My doc has got me in a testing 3 months for months 4-6 inclusive.

He then wants me back to my previous numbers but with a broadened diet.

Will be interesting to see if I can achieve this. :)

Prem51, it beats me that drinking a bottle of Merlot gave you that fbs? My friend drinks half a bottle of red wine every night with his dinner, eats desserts like he doesn't have diabetes, and doesn't care what you tell him.

@Keesha Drinking red wine does seem to give me a lower fbg the next morning, others find that too, though not everyone. I don't know why it happens. I've read on here that it might be because the liver deals with the alcohol first. But it's not something I would do every night as more than one glass of wine on a regular basis is likely to do harm in other ways.

My BFG in morning fasting is between 5.1 and 5.7, usually. This morning was 5.7. Not always sure what makes it higher than some mornings.!
@winniethepooh every meter is not 100% accurate. Your meter sounds a very good one. Those differences are very very small compared to some meters. Search 'accuracy of meters' to see info in other threads in this forum.

A perfect 4.3 for me. :) :) :)
After white bread sandwiches and lots of walking.
Running after toddler near roads and trains counteracts some carbs. Only if I'm not stressed.
Yesterday was total pleasure and with good company @Liam1955 :) :) :)

Mine is 9.4 this morning, just before bed it was 6.9.
A bit fed up with it going up so much overnight! It seems I can only get a good morning reading if I go to bed 4 or below.

4.4 @ 07:30 (not fully balanced, I had jerk chicken and salad jut before Spurs vs Liverpool (brunch), and then 2 helpings of just jerk chicken at my cousins bbq (dinner))
