Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

TRESCO -That explanation makes me feel better having had an 8.1 followed immediately by a 7.6 ( I took the lower number!)
I have an appointment with my diabetic nurse next Tuesday to check which of my 2 meters is more accurate; last week one gave a 4.3 (Contour XT), whilst the Wavesense Jazz delivered a 5.6 - this variation I feel is unacceptable, but I agree that so long as the measurement devices are consistent from day 1, we can establish a pattern.

I had 5.3 today. I have not slept much and I am going through quite some grief, so taking it very easy today with Yoga, rest, beauty salon (yeah), comfort food (bone broth, warm, meaty dishes). I have no big plans for the long weekend, mostly resting and getting in tough with my emotions :bigtears:

Hope you are alright :)

Good Morning! 5.5 at 0615 today after a whole bottle of Merlot last night.
The 5.5 was good, but drinking a whole bottle of Merlot probably isn't to be recommended as a way to achieve lower fbgs. ;)

Accurate against what though? Your nurse's meter? How do you necessarily know their meter is the most accurate?

I'd say, pick the meter you like, and use it. You're looking for trends.

And just to comply with the thread objective, my fasting level was 3.1 this morning. My usual bracket is 3.5-4.5 if I've had an extra long sleep or lie in.

Morning All

5.3 for me today. Spoilt myself yesterday with a pleasant, roof down blast through the high Peaks to Castleton, where it was so hot I couldn't resist a 99.....

Result was a 6.7 before tea yesterday, so I'm happy its come down again .

6.9 I was an idiot last night:)
Nothing wrong with having an occasional evening off, and your reading is still below 7 which I regard as ok.
But you do seem to have been more relaxed since your last HbA1c test results. Nothing wrong with that either as your readings are still below 7, but not as low as previously.
I am having my 12 month HbA1c test this Thursday and should get the results the following week. I am hoping and expecting that the results will be in the 30s, and suspect that if that is the case I might become more complacent.

It always seems to work for me

Mine was 5.2 this morning.

I'm not usually a bit fan of making excuses, but it was my birthday yesterday and I did indulge in a few more C's than usual.
