I'm 17 and I've been diabetic for like one year. I often have questions but this app is not very easy for conversations. I would prefer PMs.

I can understand your view James, but the DCUK fora are very good for sharing views, information and support with a very large number of participants. You may perhaps find Facebook groups dedicated to T1D where you could chat.

Hi James, if you have questions then ask away, there's many type 1's who would be happy to chat with you on the forum, pm's are limited to one person messaging you and their own advice/opinion, by asking questions to all members you are getting a broader response, is there anything in particular you need support with ?

You may find the website easier to use than the app @jamesland214

I always use the website as I prefer it.

If you have questions, ask away :) You'll get lots of answers from other Type 1s here.

I use the App for convenience because it's on the tablet and I can just pick it up whenever I'm passing. Plus it's constantly logged in. However there are times when it's a pain as there is no info about the posters, signatures and the like, and a long post (especially with quotes) just hides out of sight beneath the keyboard so you have to keep moving that to see what you've written.

Pros and cons - I still use the app though!

Rather than PMs, you have a greater chance of someone helping if it's on the website. Yes, it's an open public forum and open to everyone to see - but then whatever you discuss on here may well help a number of other people who are glancing in but not yet registered to post.

On my iPad, I always use the browser. I have a bookmark to "Recent Posts", so it's ónly 1 click more than the app for me. I prefer the browser format, but that's just me. Erm,......... contrary as ever! :)

Same here, the Chrome browser is far quicker than the app on my Samsung Tablet and android phone.

Separate names with a comma. You may invite up to 5 member(s).

If the Op want to use PM's he can correspond to five other members if he wants to.

I don't know if there is an upper limit for participants in a PM, but it's certainly more than 14 or 15, including myself. I know this from messages sent in the recent past.

Forum staff can send pm's to more recipients in XenForo forum software, If I remember correctly from my days on staff at another forum using XenForo.

The bit I quoted came from the PM page http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/conversations/ where a member is allowed to correspond with up to five members.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tipetoo. I hadn't tried such a large group before I became a moderator.

Every day is a school day. :)
