Liquorice and aniseed (especially the tracer I have to drink in hospital before a CT scan - yuk!)
My eldest daughter & son-in-law sent me a photo from their 20 week baby scan; all's well with them (even if I'm falling to bits!).

Brilliant idea! Maybe you could get a massage while you're there, too, to relax yourself even further. :):):):)

This may sound silly to others but to me I'm so pleased with myself.
We brought our son a new laptop last week as his was literally falling to bits and he needs it for schoolwork, etc. Over last weekend he was trying to download iTunes onto his new laptop but was unable to as error messages kept popping up. I told him this morning to leave it out with his passwords etc so I could try for him as I had some free time. Anyway, me not being a tech head or anything, have after two hours of trying, managed to download & install iTunes successfully and found out what was stopping it from downloading in the first place.
I've sent my other son, whose on his third year IT course at college, who also couldn't do it and said it can't be done, a very smug message saying I've fixed it, still waiting for a reply!!!

Thats a triumph!! Really positive. I have this challenge ahead of me!! Wanting to get rid of iphone but keep my music though, somehow. Really positive to hear that you have managed to get it to new laptop.

I got new laptop andiphone wont recognise it to back it up! Says it can only be linked to one computer!!

Thats a real positive for me to know music can be transferred!!

Thank you. From what I've read online, there are several people who have problems installing iTunes on windows 10. It's only been downloading so much then stops saying network error in which it says it could be down to security. As it's a new laptop there isn't much on there at the moment so it was a case of uninstalling something, try downloading iTunes until it worked then reinstalling what I'd deleted.
I must admit I've logged into his iTunes account with his details and his music library is empty. He has his phone with him so I can't plug it in and sync it to back this up.
From what I remember with my account, it says you can have up to five devices on one computer. When my son gets in from school, I'll plug the phone in and see if his music appears again. I'll let you know what happens.

You are a very clever girl, Nicola! I'm always in awe of people who can work out IT stuff - it's all completely beyond me!

@donnellysdogs That's a good idea staying in a hotel to relax.

I've taken it for granted that I have a major hospital 10 miles away, with specialist units for pancreas and just about everything else: something I can be positive about. It's also handy for my wife and others who can easily visit me when I get admitted.

I've been ill and in pain recently, but there are positives:
1. The pain killers work (they haven't always)
2. I also use mindfulness* to reduce my chronic pain
3. I can't eat solids, but the food supplements I've been given are quite nice (Scandi shake), compared to Fortisips which are normally prescribed - very artificial tasting and loaded with sugar. It's definitely better than being on a feeding tube (had that several times).
4. The timing is quite good, because I've been waiting for a CT scan to find out what's going on: this is due on Friday.

*I know a few of you have mentioned how mindfulness helps. For a taster, try the free trial of the Headspace app (it's expensive after the 10 day trial). I learnt from a book with an audio CD of exercises: “Mindfulness for Health: A practical guide to relieving pain, reducing stress and restoring wellbeing” by Danny Penman and Vidyamala Burch. It's recommended by the British Medical Association and explains the science behind mindfulness and pain relief. It's based around an 8 week course, but I found substantial benefits after 4 weeks. The book is the bestseller on mindfulness on a certain, well known website!

The book helped me reduce the amount of painkillers (Cocodamol and Zydol) was taking from the maximum allowed to occasional use of Cocodamol only. In addition, I didn't realise how stressed and anxious I was until I learnt to relax (my wife and others noticed the difference).

Hugs to all from me too! (Thanks to @Kat100 for the idea.)

My last post on here was about my son starting work experience. He finished it yesterday and was rewarded with a 1 hour radio show! Him and his friends put together the show with minimal assistance and it was broadcast yesterday afternoon. Very proud mum!

Dishonesty, selfishness and lack of empathy.
This morning, an early walk on the beach. Only intended to try an walk for 10 mins, ended up walking a mile to the village. I haven't been able to do that since my cancer treatment finished three years ago.

Also signed up for free Open Uni course on Gene Therapy, something close to my heart. Yesterday I was depressed, after my therapy, my mind was cleared.

Two things accomplished.
