Hi all, the last time I posted on this forum was about 2 years ago when my son was newly diagnosed at 4 years old
He's now 6 and will soon be starting on a pump in fact in 2 days time is start date. I regularly read this forum for all sorts of reasons, sometimes when I'm worried and need support, sometimes when I need advice ,sometimes as not too feel alone as a parent of a type 1 diabetic and sometimes about the pro and cons of pump therapy, after weighing up I felt it would help him a lot for all sorts of reasons after discussing it with his hospital doctor several times she finally agreed.it has been nearly 4 months that it's been decided he will go on it, in that time I have been very optimistic the last month I have been learning about it with the help of diabetes nurses and I feel I understand it but it is very daunting as it's such a big change to routine and I hope it's worth it, if anyones child has just come on a pump I would appreciate the advice ,how did they feel and how did u feel, what's it like with the change, is it worth it
I need to also buy a pouch for him and I'm strugling to find one that's right for him
I like the spibelt but the kids one says size 14 inch to 26 inch and his waist is 27 inch and the adult one is 26 to 40 inch so which one would be best for his size, any links would be great
And any other advice would be much appreciated
