Coconut oil gets a beating.

Please look google Dr Malhorta Asseem a leading cardioligist in the UK.
His father too...cant remember his name though..
He isnt plying drugs for heart disease and health etc...

Can't argue with the man.

'You’re absolutely right. Firstly, having a high, total fat consumption and that’s one low/nearly absent in refined carbohydrates is going to be the best diet for your health and reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, cancer, and dementia. That’s been proven in many good quality studies and most of the positive effects that we have demonstrated so far, in terms of reducing those risks, are from foods such as nuts, extra virgin olive oil, and oily fish for example. '

My sort of fats.

I eat coconut oil everyday as part of my low carb high ft lifestyle.
I've as good as reversed my T2 because of it.
I've also lowered my bad cholesterol and upped the good without medication then I read this ........ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-40300145
I too will continue to have a tablespoon or three per day, while waiting for the time to come when we can get coconut oil on prescription.

No, I guess you really are being way too set in your ways.
I didn't give them up, we're talking (obviously you're not listening) cholesterol here.
Saturated fats raise cholesterol.
Are you being deliberately awkward?
In my case, Coconut oil and sat fats have actually dropped my cholesterol. So there !!! We are not all the same.

Then, I got fat, then I got diabetes.
Then I got slim, and didn't have it anymore
How about you?

I got diabetes,
then I got fat
Then I got slim,
but remain diabetic,

Your cure woild not work for me.

What worked for me was to test, test and test some more. Without changing the fats my wife used butter for pancakes previously and some vegetable oil for other fried items it did move my cholesterol downwards with increased exercise, this is consistent with science which says exercise will help reduce cholesterol.

The biggest shift I got was going to LCHF which has produced a 2 to 1 ratio via a total cholesterol of 3.99 and trigs of 0.5. During this phase the fats I use are loads of nuts, cheese (black bomber, Wensley Dale, Mexican hot, blue), coconut oil, raw and the other type, olive oil, Greek Yogurt, mackerel, salmon and avocado. I / we don't smother to excess with the cooking fats, just enough to cook and flavour. I have also increased my weights which might have had an impact. I am aware that some on LCHF have a higher cholesterol, so testing I feel is important if the numbers are a concern. Obviously my numbers do not correlate with what the ADA say, despite having loads of saturated fat in my diet so I for one can't support the premise. I am effectively doing the opposite of what is said to be healthy but have healthy markers...this reminds me of diabetes, ie. do the opposite of the dogma and I got non-diabetic numbers.

There's actually not enough coconut oil for everyone who will find it helpful...it is already getting too expensive...
