This thread will hopefully let us to get to know one another better and allow us to see which users we might share similarities with. I've listed a set of questions below that you can answer to tell us more about yourself. By no means do you have to answer all of them, and if you feel like adding further information, feel free.

- Include a photo here if you wish to.
- What is your name?
- How old are you?
- Are you male or female?
- Which country are you from?
- Which city/area do you live in?
- Are you religious?
- Pick three words to describe your personality.
- Do you have any pets?
- Microsoft or Apple?
- Which sport(s) (if any) do you like/play?
- Do you get angry easily?
- Do you have any tattoos or piercings? If so, where?
- List your five favourite musicians/bands.
- What would you say your favourite music genre is?
- What is your favourite flag?
- Ever gone camping?
- Ever been in love?
- Ever used fake tan?
- Which countries have you visited?
- Favourite city?
- List your five favourite TV programmes.
- List your five favourite films.
- Are you wealthy?
- Do you work? If so, as what?
- List the subjects you study/have studied.
- What do you like most about yourself?
- What do you like least about yourself?

Have fun!

Husband and two daughters have diabetes, two sons and one daughter don’t,
Why is my mouth so dry constantly drinking to the point I feel like I am drowning from the inside,,

I used to be like that daily (as a heavy smoker) until recently I stopped drinking tap water and even filtered water and tried to only drink mineral water for a couple weeks. Made a huge difference to the amount of water I drink and the frequency of urination. I think when you constantly drink water without minerals you are essential flushing out the existing minerals in your body which will make you thirsty again. Vicious cycle took me about 5 years to figure out with the help of some Youtube doctors to confirm suspicions.

You really don't need that music water when its mineralised.

Hi. I'm new here.
I started with diabetes when I was 16, now I'm 73, so... I'm an old diabetic man. :depressed:
I'm using libre from a year, and xDrip+ and blucon from three days, and I'm enthusiast, really. Libre sensors have a bit erratic calibration, so the possibility given by xDrip+ to calibrate it is really welcome, and looks be working very well.
Bye.
Pippo :)

Hi everyone
my name is Birdwoman
I found your forum this morning and it looks good, I am not normally one for forums but this one looks good.

I am female, aged 70

I use an Mac computer

favourite city
probably Saville

I was diagnosed in the summer with pre-diabetes and have been looking at ways to reverse it. I am trying a high fat/low carb diet, so far I have lost about a stone and a half but although my blood sugar come down very well after a meal, it is still not down far enough in the morning. Has anyone else tried this diet and what results did they find please?

Hi my name is Adele currently living in the UK - my daughter Kirsty has Down’s Syndrome and is a Type 1 Diabetic which I (and the family) help her manage.
Wondering if there are any others like us out there...
We have recently discovered the Freestyle Libre.. loving it but having a few teething problems with the sensors ... first one we tried, she knocked off within 10 mins of application.. second one she “drowned” in the swimming pool after only 24 hours.. 3rd one was just faulty... ( by which time I was literally crying) numbers 4, 5 & 6 have all been great applied & worked with no problem .. however 7 wouldn’t not stick and 8 applied ok but is faulty as wont give a reading... Abbott have replaced my first three sensors no questions asked.. but after these next two maybe on their blacklist! Any one else having similar issues I just love the concept loath to give it up...

@Adeleo23 . Welcome to the forum. There are lots of parents of T1 children on the forum and I'm sure if you go to the parents sub forum you'll be most welcome.
A visit to the blood glucose monitoring sub forum should offer some tips and advice re the libre.
I'll tag the wonderful @Snapsy who I'm sure uses the libre, and always comes up with great advice.

If I walked 15 mins so could I.

Interesting depending on which end of the park you enter. There is no need to acknowledge and apologies if I under or overestimate your walking speed.

I'll go with Ansty or Cropston

@Adrian1981 . I use Glenfield. Me and Anstey pharmacy had a disagreement. They never have anything in stock and if on the odd occasion they do it takes them an hour to find it.
