@Hi Troubled1 dry and light winds looking like rain for later here but never so blooming cold has where you are, hope you have some holidays due to relax a bit with family now Christmas is over. Your BG levels are well in range, wish mine where lower but after today it's back to watching what I eat and some fasting has my diabetic review is coming up in January need to get rid of the Christmas and New Year foods I've eaten some way.Again wishing you a fabulous 2018 and take care when your out and about in the weather conditions you drive in! If I sound like your mother that's because I'm old enough to be it!K
Posted a photo of me when I was 4stone heavier than I am now, will update me Has I am now at a later date no photos of me since losing the weight! K

@Granny_grump. It is bitterly cold out. I was just out picking up supplies for a small home renovation. -43°c windchill. Walking on the snow sounds like I’m walking on styrofoam, very squeaky. Unfortunately I have to bring a washing machine from my garage across the yard and into the house. I may have to wear a jacket.
My bg’s are slowly coming down in direct correlation with the dwindling supply of holiday treats.
Here’s a pic from June when I was 10lbs heavier.

I never thought at my age (53) I would be able to deadlift 405lbs (183.7kg) but it does help in keeping my bg’s steady.

Good grief Troubled1 that's some weight to lift,it would have done my back in years ago started with osteoarthritis of the spine when I was 28 years old so no weight lifting for me! Though people on here do lift weights not sure how much they lift and some are women of various ages but I seriously don't think they are heavy weight lifters. Do you still do this exercise now?
And has my daughter is 54 I told you I was old enough to be your mum! Haha!
You carry on doing whatever keeps you fit and good luck to you,bet your wife is looking forward to another Arnold Swartzeneger by next year!K

Good evening chums . With my tongue very much in cheek, tonight I’ve had my first take out curry -lamb sag -2 tbsp rice and 1/2 nan since I started on insulin and baring in mind that I don’t usually drink ( about 5 units a year is about right .I’ve also had 1 units worth of beer. Does anyone want to guess kims blood glucose tomorrow morning ?

@Granny_grump_ I still do my weightlifting. I try to do it 3x/week. I haven’t lifted 405lbs since I had pain down both my sides the last time I lifted that weight. I have since gone back to 315-365 and I feel good doing it.
My 13yo daughter has the workout bug in her. She does gymnastics (competitive)12hrs/week martial arts2x/week plus weightlifting. She can easily bench press 110lbs. She’s tougher than a $2 steak.

Morning...fast asleep as the New Year crept in...just as I like it...coffee first...Italian blend today...ooh that aroma...pervading the whole house...another?...okay don't mind if I do...Happy New year everyone...woke to a 5.5.

@Troubled1 Your daughter sounds like my daughter many years ago when she was her age she did gymnastics and was very good her teachers wanted her to take it up professionally also. But teenagers being the way they are she left school and never carried it on,so good on her and I hope she makes it to whatever level she wants to achieve! And I take my hat off to you doing weights and with the double benefits of lowering your blood glucose well your well on your way to a healthier lifestyle. Here's to a healthier and happier and stable BG reading for every diabetic for 2018!!!!!K

Here we are at the beginning of a New Year wishing health wealth and Happiness too all!K
