Just arrived back from the hospital and here is the results of my latest HBA1C:

A fantastic “38 mmols/mol” down from 46 last Dec 2017 and 85 on diagnosis last Sept 2017.

The Consultant Endocrinologist also said I’m Type 2 going into remission!

Reduced to one tablet of Metformin from tomorrow!

I had prayers, anointing of oil / healing for the sick in our Christian congregation.

Well done, that's an inspiration to me to keep me going. Can I ask how many of metformin you were taking before being reduced to 1 tablet.
Thank you

Thanks for that. I've been told to increase my metformin to the same as you were taking. As I don't like taking medication I'm not to happy but knowing that you have been told to reduce them once you've controlled your BG levels has made me feel a little better.
Well done once again and thank you.

Thanks for sharing. it's nice to see a regime that is not quite so strict and to see that it is working great (for some at least). I know everybody is different but your choices show that lower as opposed to very low CAN work. Trial and error like most people advocate.

Please don’t despair.

Metformin is a mild drug and it’s
good for your cardiovascular system.

The key is to stick with lchf diet for an excellent blood glucose control. Metformin will not totally reduce your bg but low carbing will.

I’m gobsmacked you went from DKA and almost dying to non diabetic numbers with that much carb in your diet.

I’m afraid Ketogenic and ultra low carb diet doesn’t work for me although I would highly recommend it.

But as you said we are all different.

You weren't doing a keto diet though, you were starving yourself and ignoring the extensive advice you were offered. This all seems a bit odd to me, how can you go from DKA to non diabetic in four months on a diet with that much carb in?

Why don’t you give my Endocrinologist a phone call?

I’ve had enough of your insulting and sarcastic remarks to be honest.

What works for your diet doesn’t work for everyone.

Understand?

I’m just trying to make sense of all the information you’ve offered over the last few months. There are so many discrepancies it’s difficult to offer you advice when you ask for it.
I have never suggested you follow my diet. You have stated that you tried a keto diet but nearly died 2-3 times but you weren’t actually doing a keto diet, you were starving yourself. We tried very hard on your first thread to help you.

If I have insulted you at any point, please report me to the mods.

It takes a bit of thought and some forward planning, but it is perfectly possible to find the right foods while working on the road all day. What sort of places do you go to for your meals while out on the roads?

the normal for me ,, supermarkets , bakers , tea stalls, etc, i do try packed lunches sometimes, but mainly sandwiches or rolls , salad in the warmer months, but im a bit old fashioned , and like hot or warm foods in the colder months, and i do drink a lot of tea
