You are right Mike. You need a strong advocate and one not prepared to take "no" for an answer. It's ridiculous Ally
I will leave it until Friday before I call the dept just in case the appt comes through tomorrow or Friday morningThat is reassuring in some ways, Ally. High Priority means urgent, put to top of list in my vocabulary, and this doctor seems far more useful that your other one. A hospital assessment is a good idea because you do need to get to the bottom of it all, whatever it is. I am sorry you are having to go through all this, you really do not deserve any of it. Try and stay calm.
Maybe a phone call to the neurology department to see how long it might be?
if anything changes, i would seriously consider A & E. At this point, there is no way of knowing what is diabetes related, and what is a new development or a reaction to medication.Curiosity got the better of me and I called the referral appt dept at the hospital.
They received my referral an 23rd May. No appt has been sent out yet. But now you all like me might laugh or cry at this next bit.
Am on what they call the medium to high to be seen waiting list, which I thought was good, now the bad news, from that date, there is a 24 week wait to be seen. So I won t hear anything for a good few weeks and won t be seen at least until middle to end of October. My gp was right in saying there is a long waiting list. So looks like I have a good few weeks well several weeks lol before I will be seen
Yes I agree. At first my gp thought it was all due to the diabetes. He is thinking now that there is maybe something elseif anything changes, i would seriously consider A & E. At this point, there is no way of knowing what is diabetes related, and what is a new development or a reaction to medication.
have some more hugs
Yes your gp is good.I was just about to say something similar to @lucylocket61
When I was ill before Christmas and went to see the GP he said I had a fast pulse rate with ectopic heart beats (the ones that feel like a missed beat). He said I needed an extended ECG (72 hours) and maybe some other tests. He said he could refer me as an outpatient but it would be months so he called an ambulance believe it or not and sent me off to the hospital assessment unit because this was the quickest way of being monitored/assessed/treated. Now he is what I call a good GP.
I sure will do thoseAlly, you do right not to Google. Also, if it gets even a tiny bit worse - off back to the doctor, and see the good one that rang you up. If you have a nasty fall, off to A&E, no messing.
I could do that. One would me a train ride plus two buses, the other, two trains plus a bus ride. To be honest, it's the cost but will think about itAsk the GP if your can use "choose and book" so you can get seen quicker at a different hospital.
