Not Diagnosed For 5 Years And Are There Risks To V Low Carbs

Agreed, but the fact that @Geoffno6 has highish blood sugars and is losing weight despite the low carb means that LADA should be ruled out....
Hi did you mean that? Surely LADA should be ruled IN as a possibility. Losing weight unexpectedly with high blood sugar is a strong pointer to lack of insulin and the body burning fat. That needs the right diagnosis, and then tablets and/or insulin

Thanks for those replies Alexandra100. Apologies for using the word advising, it’s more ‘this is what i’ve done and it works for me’ which is not advice.
I was surprised at how many carbs you can eat by having a few onions, salad and veg, and nuts. Today I was at 9.3 when I woke up, but forgot to take my test kit to work I’ve had egg, meat, fish and cheese today, no veg, fruit or salad. Pre dinner at 8 pm this evening I’m at 7.5. Im going to test 90 mins after dinner ( i’d like to wait 2 hours but it’s getting late) I’m going to have a run after the 90 mins post dinner test, test straight after the run and then 30 mins later. I’ll let you know how I do.

Sorry, my post was poorly worded. I meant that the doctor should rule LADA out, ie test for it, before assuming the OP is T2. I agree that LADA is a strong possibility given the circumstances.

So I had a rack of ribs with mushrooms and a tiny quantity of onions followed by cream and a 10 cal jelly 8.15 finishing it about 8.30 my readings were:
7.5 at 22.15 105 mins after finishing dinner
5.0 at 22.29 after a 1.2 mile run in 11 mins
6.4 at 22.59
Am I right in thinking my muscles burnt some sugar then my annoying body found some good old glucose
