hello everyone!
So I’ve been given the freestyle libre today, so soooo happy:D.
Just one question, my DSN said that it takes readings every 15 mins on its own, where can I find these readings, would like to have a little look at them at some point. Hope I’ve put this in the related forum.
Thanks x

You cannot see the actual readings it took every 15 mins, it just displays it as the graph, so you can see roughly what it was at any given time by looking at the graph, it only logs in the log book when you actually scan it if that makes sense.

Myarnton - you can download all the (15 minute) readings, as well as the scans, blood tests and carbs you input, to your computer, as well as create various graphs and charts.

You need to download the software from Abbotts site.

I fine the data can be very useful, in pinpointing peaks and any lows.

Thank you for that information! That’s so handy to know. Really need to knuckle down on my readings post meals, this will help me so much. I’ll download this as soon as possible.
Thank you!:D

If you go here: https://www.freestylelibre.co.uk/libre/discover/your-data.html and download the sofware, that'll get you started.

@Rokaab - I think that's what you need too.

There's also the LibreView software, which has even greater funtionality, but I haven't used tha myself.

Once you've downloaded the Libre software from Abbott website, plug in your reader to your computer device and the program will open.

If you go to File - Export Data - Give a file name and choose where you want the document to be stored etc, then click Save. It will save the data as csv file which can then be opened in a spreadsheet. Once this has opened into your spreadsheet, you will see a LOT of numbers in columns. I can't remember, off-hand, what they all are but the first few columns will be the results of the Reader scans, one column being its own automatic scans (I believe they are at 5 min intervals, not 15) and the next column being the results from your own manual scans. Other columns probably relate to amounts of insulin given, when you've eaten etc, if you've input the info.

I haven't heard of the LibreView so I will download that now and see what it's about ;) Many thanks for that @DCUKMod :)

[Edit 9.42] Having just checked, LibreView is the software downloaded from Abbott and the same as I've used to explain how to get further data.
Also, if anyone happens to be a 'whizz' on spreadsheets, there is a way to turn this data into more meaningful displays, including graphs etc. That would be very helpful as the graphs could then be displayed in whatever way you prefer. Having said that, the graphs on LibreView are excellent.
Oh, and if you want to keep an electronic copy of the pages, go to Print, then choose MS Print to PDF, or anyother equivalent. As well as printing the pages, you can have them in a file ;)

If you have an iPhone and it’s probably the same if you have an android phone, you can download an app and use your phone as a sensor reading device and it can share with your consultant too. I know mine says she spies on me

The app for the iPhone Is called Libre link. It gives hba1c approximations and average blood glucose levels, graphs etc. I wish you luck! I managed a drop of two units in 3 months. I was very happy indeed.

@gemma_T1 thank you so much for that information, that’s so handy!! I’m going to download that now. Does it show up on the same graph as the libre meter on the computer? Xx

Once you’ve downloaded the Libre app for your phone you can also download LibreLink Up too and form there up to twenty people including family members and consultant can see your graph, logbook and trends in real time.
My consultant keeps a discreet check on all of us patients.

You chose obviously who you want to share with .. it’s an excellent tool. The app is for iPhones and now android too and it is really fantastic. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. You will see what I mean when you use it.

Just to say that you once you download all the apps you can only begin using them when you start a new sensor. To be able to use both the smart phone app and the libre meter together my doctor said you must first attach the new sensor then scan new sensor first with the meter and then with the phone app wait for the hour to pass and when the sensor is ready rescan with the meter and the phone and then you’re started. I find I always use my iPhone and just once in the morning and once in the evening use my meter. The app is really amazing. Let me know how you find it. I really hope it proves useful to you and your family.

Is there any way to use an android phone if you have missed the window at the start of the sensors life.....

I just installed my first sensor last night but missed the window to get my phone working with it....

I have done about 12 scans so far and all have been within 1mmol of the blood test.....I must be very lucky.....;)

Unfortunately not as far as I can tell, they have to pair before it's finished its 60 min setup.

Unfortunately not @novorapidboi26. The phone has to be started within the 1 hour warm up time.
You will be scanning and checking often during the first few days. I can remember my first week scanning around 20 - 30 times a day :). Am not so bad now lol
