What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.5 yesterday - a relection of a girls night out Friday. Too much prosecco which made me say yes to 3 spoonfuls of dessert....and a porn star martini! My first cocktail since diagnosis in December. Oh my word it was like drinking nectar.

Alcohol!!! The devil's work.:arghh::banghead:;)

6.2 today. Probably still battling with that sugar as I'm usually low 5s. And had a very low carb day yesterday. Still quite full from the night before. Miller and Carter, outstanding steak. Big, fat and very juicy. Peppercorn sauce. Mushrooms on the side with a tasty salad (topped with stilton sauce). Cheese board for dessert. Not one sugar bomb (grape) touched! Thankfully resisted them little blighters! Even though they were shouting 'eat me eat me'.

Note to self ' next night out offer to be designated driver!'

Thank you so much. I hadn’t thought of that and I’ll give it a try. Will let you know how I get on. All new to me!
It is worth a try Flora...before I go out for exercise of any sort I always make sure I have something to eat...maybe a handful of nuts or a small piece of cheese.

Pretty sure we all need a little "James Bay moment" now and again. As a wiser person than me put it, these are readings not tests. (Please note, absolutely none of this wisdom ever applies to myself)

@karen8967 and @Debandez they sound like seriously good parties without too much damage. @Flora123 you are doing great, I would have found all this so much more difficult if diagnosed when my boys were at school. Diabetes in my short experience (9 months) is never easy but you are putting in the effort and thats the most important thing. Good on you we have all been there, some of us still are!

Morning all. A late one due to a wedding reception last night. I took the precaution of eating a steak for lunch ... Of course I drank the wine there and danced a bit as the band was fab. The food I resisted, there was a veggie curry and a vegan curry..... The aroma was Devine ... but resisting gives me a morning reading of 5.3 .... Sunny day here....

Penguinmum it was a great night but suffering now it would of been rude to say no

Feel for you @HarrisonK but this is about the long game. Have you not said there is some stress at work and the antibiotics are clearly for a reason. Seems like your body is dealing with big stressors "manfully" (not come across personfully, sorry). You're a warrior sir, respect.

This is true, I'm involved in a drawn out health scenario that will cost me my job, with associated knock on effects, so my stress levels are maxed out. Thank you for your kind words.

Another sunny morning here in London. Going off out later to investigate an outdoor gym in one of our local parks...in fact we will probably investigate a few of them as the NHS healthy lifestyles people have been putting them in in quite a few local parks. Will take some photos. FBG is 8.1 - am pushing to get it under 8 tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I am off to watch the politics on the TV and probably shout at the TV a bit - an exercise in futility I know, but still lots of fun.

good morning all :)

4.1 today

Lowest fbg of the week.

Hope your weekend is going well :)

@PenguinMum glad you're ok, hope the arthritis calms down soon

@ianpspurs - family day sounds great :)

@Bubbsie - re- Trump/Kavanaugh - the FBI investigation could be just as much of a half baked thing as the hearing, not really the FBI's fault though, sounds as though they are being hamstrung from the start plus the reports go straight into the sinkhole that is the Whitehouse.

Perhaps Trumps frequent complaining about the FBI may come back to bite him on the Ar*e
One encouraging sign is that the FBI obviously had a plan ready to go, another is that so many FBI commentators have mentioned 'lack of probity'/perjury. People have gone to jail for lying to the Senate and/or the FBI. and Kavanaugh seems to have only a passing aquaintance with the truth considering he is already a high court judge.
Ignoring/dismissing Avenatti's client may be a mistake too.

Agree with everything you said. How on earth did the American people voted that crook and liar to the White House. He is a laughing stock of the whole world. Comedians are having a field time making jokes out of him everyday.
